not sure how me saying we are a different proposition at the kp and we would've taken 1-0 mean I have no idea about Madrid. we restricted one of the best teams in Europe to very few chances and the one they scored shouldn't  been a penalty.

I agree they are indeed the masters of holding on to leads but my point is we are still in this tie and on our day we can beat anyone and I mean anyone at the kp.

See....this is where i have an issue when you claim i'm wrong in saying that you have 'no idea about Madrid'.

Under Simeone, Atleti never 'go looking' for a goal after taking the lead.

They restricted themselves. They believe they've done enough, and so do i.

In fairness, it was only after the replays i saw it not a penalty. At real time i thought oh shit when Griezmann got fouled that it was stonewall. At the speed it happened, the ref most likely did guess it. Just shows we need video technology because no way could the extra official see the decision from his angle either.

It was a heroic effort by the lads though, really nullified Atleti 2nd half with a smart substitution to drop Ndidi back with King on and maybe if the Huth chance fell to Vardy say we could have nicked the away goal.

Dont know if we can keep a clean sheet at home tbh but were still in there fighting.

Can someone tell me why UEFA would favour Atletico madrid, 2 times beaten finalists recently, against the side which created the 'best underdog story in football'?

Leicester winning the champions league would make the game explode.

Great result but by no means is this advantage us. Atletico are experts at protecting a lead and we saw with the Griezemann break how good they are on the counter.

Simeone seems like a manager who is never happy and he will have them ready next week. Hopefully us fans will create an absolutely terrifying atmosphere that they won't know what has hit them.

'Terrifying atmosphere' lol

These are a side which play at probably the noisiest ground in spain....

Now they will come to England, to a ground which generates noise via clappers.

I'm sure they will be scared stiff.

Starting to realise you are a bit of a WUM. Forest or Derby fan? Come on. Fess up!

He's right though. It's like the wet Tuesday in Stoke bullshit. We tend to blow stuff out of proportion in England when it comes to tough away games.

I can understand your point from the side i.e. the tv angle view first time around.

However, the referee's view was totally different. He was directly behind the incident and had a clear sight of where the foul was and the edge of the penalty area. That view, even in real time leaves no doubt that it was 2ft outside the area.

Thats not a mistake. That is crooked.

As further evidence I put forward countess incorrect decisions in favour of Madrid.

Before people come on her calling me a twat; citing sour grapes;

For 40 years I knew FIFA was corrupt based on watching many international matches and World Cups riddled with such incidents.

And so it proved to be, so dismissing these opinions is naive in the extreme.

We were way second best yesterday, with some shocking individual performances (Drinkwater had the mobility of a 50 year old amateur - and I have never seen him play worse) against a very good side, so part of me says 0-1 is not bad but what's the point when it's so bent. Plus a 2-0 win at home to these looks 'a bridge too far'.

Good rule of thumb (judging from various forums and comment threads today) is that anyone who insists on calling Atletico 'Atleti' is a sanctimonious, condescending ****

That's bollocks, the referees views shows it clearly well outside the box. There's no way you can honestly get that call wrong - 6 yards away, no obstruction of your view, daylight between the players and the box, it's the simplest call any ref will ever have to make.

if you want to go for need a replay to see it correctly - Mahrez going down in the box, need a second replay to see he's started falling before contact. Giving that incorrectly as a penalty is defensible, the one he gave isn't.

That comment is based on what?

FIFA and UEFA have never been shown to be corrupt then?

Not that. It's the defeatist "I'm glad we won't be involved in Europe" whine that bothers me. You need to stand up and fight (alleged) corruption, not just shy away from it.

If you had said that then fair enough ;)

The penalty was a poor decision, but the refs failure to realise that savic was throwing himself to the ground if vardy breathed on him was infuriating! He was an embarrassment

Quite a strange feeling this morning regarding last nights match.

On the face of it I should be over the moon, I'd have taken 1-0 at kick off last night, as the tie is still very much alive and I feel we can beat anyone at the KP on our day. However I can't help but feel we were cheated last night by the officials and also the atletico players/management.

First off it was never a penalty, we could all see that, but also I found the way Simeone and the players were trying to get our players booked at every opportunity completely unsporting and distasteful. Literally every time the ref blew his whistle there was a player or Simeone gesturing for a card to be branded, heck they even got one of our coaches sent to the stands!

Shame to be without Huth for the second leg too-this could prove to be crucial. I just hope the players use this as motivation to hit them back at the KP next week. I for one can not wait-it's going to be a special night regardless of the result.

Nah mate Mahrez dived. If he wasnt a Leicester player youd be laughing at the dive.

Agreed. Thought Simeone and the players gesturing to get our player's booked after every tackle, was shameful.

Then for Simeone to not shake Shakespeare's hand at the end too, just sums up the night really.

I think 1-0 was about right, as they did noticably take their foot off the gas 2nd half and I think they would have pushed a lot harder for the first goal if they hadn't been awarded the pen, so I think they may have got the breakthrough sooner or later. We will never know though and the ref was terrible all night.

If you had offered me 1-0 at the start of the night though, I would have taken it. I think we can score 2 against them, and so will just be a case of keeping a clean sheet! :sweating:

Really can't believe what I'm reading this morning from Grewks! Trying to suggest that 'Atleti' lol weren't trying for a second goal!?

Of course they were! We just defended brilliantly and frustrated the Hell out of them.

Grewks must be a WUM surely?

Real time I thought two things 2 yards from the box, an Marc should of just let him through, an they may or may not have scored. Marc fouled him knowing he was outside the box, an under the circumstances if the correct decision has been given a free kick would of been far less dangerous than if Marc had of just let him past, the only objection I have is if your giving that you have to give the Mahrez one aswell or neither.
