All those saying it would be 0-0 without the penalty clearly don't understand the way Atleti play.

I'm not saying had they not got the penalty they would've still won the game....but they would have added far more tempo in the match.

As soon as the game went 1-0, Atleti didn't want to score again as long as they kept us out.

Tonight was the perfect performance by Atleti, and the likes of Bayern and Dortmund could learn a lot from them.

This is so true, they know they are hard to break down at home so didn't feel the need to really push for a second. that being said, they tried to put it on us in the last fifteen and at full time i personally felt like they had not done enough, and perhaps they did too. it is going to be the biggest game our team has ever been involved with on Tuesday (putting last season aside). however i think we will be well up for it with nothing to lose if last season is anything to go by, and i fancy us to do em over 90 minutes at home and knock them out. i hope so anyway!

with the greatest of respect to some of you over the last few pages....we were completely outclassed.

You don't need to lost 4 or 5 nil to be completely outplayed.

Atleti wanted a 1-0 wil, they got it, and it never looked in doubt.

We can get through, but only if Atleti don't turn up in the second leg.

I think the class of the opposition has much to with Mahrez' 'bad form'.

They double and triple teamed him most of the match, and their squad is world class.

I don't know mate, he looked just as shite against sunderland- I wouldn't say they have many world class players!

We are a completely different side at the kp.

We would've taken 1 nil too. Are you sure that they only wanted 1-0?

The team just needed to put their self in a good position for the return fixture. A 1-0 result is decent. I'd take that over Bayern/Dortmund losing at home or Barca losing 3-0.

Are people forgetting that Atletico hasn't allowed a goal at home in the knockouts in 14+ matches? No way was Leicester scoring. A scoreless draw would've been a fair result. Atletico were fortunate to even score off a bad penalty decision. An ugly match was exactly what I was expecting.

No one in Leicester played particularly bad given the circumstances and situation. Not sure why everyone is slagging off Drinkwater or Okazaki.

Not pretty but a fantastic result. 1-0 from a dodgy penalty and a pretty biased ref.

Thought Benny did really well after his less than perfect performance at the weekend. Shame about Huth's booking. Was or Amartey I suppose, assuming Wes isn't back. Mahrez still looks well off his game. I was surprised Shakey didn't sub him for Gray (or use the 3rd sub at all for that matter).  Still it's all worked out to give us a real chance next week.

Edit: Oops, forgot Wasser not available for the next game as not registered. We are really thin on the ground aren't we? Amartey it is then.

I had forgotten that too! I actually think Amartey is the better option anyway after his performances at AFCON there.

Still have a hunch Wes will get himself fit though. Got 6 days still :sweating:

Drinkwater was very poor I thought. He got caught in possession numerous times and passing wasn't good. We need him back to the Danny of last season and quickly but I do think he is carrying a knock as he look like he was struggling last night.

Thought Okazaki struggled too and was too busy falling over again and trying to win freekicks. We were much better 2nd half with the extra man in midfield, although I still want him rested this weekend and ready to start Tuesday as I know his value in linking the midfield and attack and we will need that more on Tuesday.

Would love it if we could turn em over next week and play Dortmund in the semis.

That also requires Dortmund to do something pretty special in their 2nd leg.

Atleti are not as good as they used to be...maybe the fact they didn't secure a second was down to the brilliant job we did of stopping Greizmann? Don't get me wrong they're a decent side, but shadows of their former selves....at home we need to work on isolating Godin, and get Vardy 1 on 1 with him, he won't cope.....I fancy us to turn it around at home, they're decent but they're not unbeatable.

Just read that Vardy did 2 passes the entire time he was on the pitch and both failed. Crazy stat lol

Hopefully we have a shot or two at the KP

Our fans need to realise that this tie, the moment it was announced, was all down to whether or not Atleti would take both legs seriously.

You clearly have very little knowledge of how Atleti play, if you had offered them 1-0 at kick off last night, they'd have snapped your hand off.

If you're right, and our management team would 'have taken 1-0', then clearly they have no ambition of making the next round and just want to make it look 'respectable'.

Maybe we are a totally different side at the KP....But Atleti are the best side in Europe at holding a lead, by a distance aswell.

I think we have an expert in our midst. Pray silence, everyone.

Agree, but somehow we looked more solid. Something I'm missing here.

Shows you the importance of tactics and positioning. This change meant we were playing something like a 4-1-4-1 with Ndidi in front of the back four. Despite King being rarely seen the new shape throttled Atletico with Wilfred doing a stellar job.

Biggest worry for me is that they scored off a counter attack! That's our strategy! We will have to take initiative in the second leg so that threat is going to be there all night.

Well maybe we should all just be deluded by our own bias instead?

No, you're just spraying insults via insinuation. Nobody doubts how tough an opponent we have, but it is hardly a lost cause, now is it??

Did Simeone not shake hands with Shakespeare? Just saw someone say that in a comment on his post match interview

He really was a twat all night with his constant gesturing to get our players booked. I wish nothing but failure for him lol

not sure how me saying we are a different proposition at the kp and we would've taken 1-0 mean I have no idea about Madrid. we restricted one of the best teams in Europe to very few chances and the one they scored shouldn't  been a penalty.

I agree they are indeed the masters of holding on to leads but my point is we are still in this tie and on our day we can beat anyone and I mean anyone at the kp.

Shakey called it, the ref guessed on that decision, Mahrez's was more of of peno because at least it happened in the box! we didn't get much there at all, even clear free-kicks were waved on. About time they stopped paying the ref I feel..
