GaelicFox Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 Really enjoyed today , was 2016 all over again ! But I feel slightly bitter at Claudio And the players we should be in the top 4 and off on another European adventure next season But because Claudio went mental and the players behaved like children we now are left in no mans land I repeat I Really enjoyed today but it has left a bitter bitter taste in my mouth and I can't be the only one !

Know what you mean Paddy and I think I said it earlier tonight in another thread but as Utred son of Utred said in The last kingdom ... It's fate mate.
fleckneymike Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 In fairness today's game was the classic end of season fare. We can take very little from that match other than Watford are shite.
Guest the fox Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 For me, its bitter sweet because we could lose a few club legends this summer (mahrez and Kasper)
adam95581 Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 I agree, kinda left with a sense of 'what if?'. But I seem to remember that the last time we had an awful first half a season, and went on a crazy run to save ourselves at the end, things panned out OK the following season...

Webbo Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 Its too easy to say it was all Claudio. The players lacked the intensity needed for defending champs. A lot of us feared it could happen at the beginning of the season. The sacking of Ranieri and dropping into the bottom 3 was needed to shake them out of their complacency. Yes CR must take his share of the blame but we had to go through this to get back where we were.

They were buggered and needed a rest. The price of fame ... But I wouldn't have had it any other way ...
Blue ROI Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 On top of unprecedented worldwide attention over the summer we had a very tough set of 9/10 fixtures at the start. Arsenal, Liverpool, Man Utd, Chelsea and Spurs with the last 4 mentioned away. With a lack of depth in the squad something had to give with the Champions League. It was looking like a masterstroke when we made it out of the group stages but the form from West Brom onwards was very worrying. That slump against teams by and large outside the top 6 is what led to change. It was a bit cruel you could say on Claudio but we were sliding back to our pre-Nigel ways under him.
PaddyS Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 Not bitter sweet at all, just sweet! Most seasons for most teams end with 'what could have been' so that's normal. These last few games have left me excited for next season, Shakey as manager, lessons learned in our style of play and our recruitment, we can push for a top 6 or even top 4 finish. Can't wait already!

Guest Col city fan Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 Stick to the boxing thread mate. That really is your forte. Leave the footy to the experts.
Corky Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 It's done now, relegation was thankfully avoided and we can look forward to the Premier League challenge again. A shame that we played so poorly for so much of the season but we're ending it in a positive way and hopefully next season will be an improvement.
jammie82uk Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 Today we was the better team but it wasn't plain sailing, have people already forgotten the saves Kasper had to make today? It always comes down to "what if" at the end of the season even last season we had the "what ifs"
Nickfosse Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 If any Leicester fan feels a sense of bitterness at a potential top 10 finish in the Premier league and a last 8 Champions League place, then they've forgotten where we've come from.
