Having a problem with editorial bias is one thing and if those articles you're talking about are how they sound then I've no doubt I'd agree with how ridiculous they are (links?), wouldn't be the first time I've rubbished Guardian content. My problem is when people dismiss articles because of the publication they're in before they've even read anything.  What about the Express are you trying to defend? The right to shamelessly ogle middle-aged ladies?

What double standards? A woman wearing a dress while she presents the weather is not news. I'd be mocking it if it was a Guardian article.  You seem to be confusing the difference between blasting content and blasting for the sake of the name it's published under. I'm doing the former and I've raised issues with the latter.

We weren't talking about a woman in a dress we were talking about something that happened in the European Parliament. You're first reaction was to rubbish the source.

It's almost a parody of itself at times.  But I ignore those articles.  The rest isn't bad. I understand it doesn't fit your world view so you won't necessarily want to read it but there are some decent left leaning writers and it has some some really decent work on issues such as climate change. That work is what elevates it above tabloids.  To me it's way ahead of the daily mail. I obviously have the same viewpoint issue as you do with the Guardian but the mail has nothing resembling good journalism. It's just tabloid pap.Â

Rogstanley Posted 5 November 2017 Posted 5 November 2017 These paradise papers are going to be interesting this week. I think we all know the wealthy do everything they can to avoid and evade tax and do so on a scale that makes benefit fraud look like chicken feed, but when the first revelation has the Queen stashing funds in the Cayman Islands, you know it’s going to be a fun week.  Â

So if say a newspaper avoided paying it's fair share by setting up a Tax shelter in say the Cayman Islands what would be your feelings towards that business? 1

We haven’t got evidence of tax returns and proof of evasion, companies and people using tax avoidance methods I would argue is not immoral, maybe it’s amoral.

Innovindil Posted 6 November 2017 Posted 6 November 2017 Â My pension pot does the same thing tbh. Admittedly, a few thousand isn't quite the same as a few mill, but the principle is the same. Â

Webbo Posted 6 November 2017 Posted 6 November 2017 The Queen only pays tax on a voluntary basis anyway so it's not tax avoidance.   Anyhoo;  Hard Brexit need not make us worse off https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2017/nov/05/hard-brexit-need-not-make-us-worse-off 1
