Video taken from the KP today. Doesn’t look like anything’s been installed as of yet.

You can literally see the horizontal bars in the photo. Look at the white areas in the top left hand corner K1.

Makes sense it’s unsafe at Ipswich in its current configuration. They went cheap with the rail and it’s not good enough for their dilapidated stand

Also it's next to the away fans in an area that didn't stand previously. Bad choice to put in there in the first place.

Be prepared to constantly having to show your ticket

Ticket Checks in Safe Standing Blocks:

To ensure that safe standing operates safely and efficiently, only supporters with valid tickets for safe standing blocks will be permitted entry into these areas. A number of additional support staff will also be in place across the stadium to support with mobile tickets for supporters on turnstiles – all will be wearing pink bibs and easily identifiable.

Our stewarding team will carry out ticket checks at entry points into safe standing blocks, and may also conduct spot checks during the match, including at half-time. These checks are essential to ensure we meet safety obligations and provide the best possible matchday experience for all supporters.

Supporters in these areas must:

Have a valid ticket for the block they are entering.

Be ready to show their digital ticket (via mobile device) when requested by stewards.

We appreciate that this may cause some disruption, particularly at the start of the season, and we are grateful for your patience and cooperation as everyone becomes more familiar with the new arrangements.

Not sure they need to do this with our fanbase currently, given that the only areas with seats together for the Sheffield Wednesday game are in the safe standing blocks.

The issue is going to be those not wanting/knowing they will have to stand being in those areas lol

Can't wait.

Spot checks during the match?

Can't wait for the "missed the goal as a steward was checking my ticket again"

Interesting to see that Ipswich have removed their safe standing area. Apparently fan feedback was that they preferred seating...

Removed a section of it from the away end cos they don’t have to give 3k tickets anymore, so it defaults to home seating and is in an area they charge their most expensive tickets to a demographic who prefer seating

Most other clubs would be showing it off and celebrating it. Not LCFC

Got my young one a ticket for the game, so had to move from my season ticket seat and on the phone they said the only 2 together seats were in the safe standing area, so hopefully she’ll be able to see, or it’s going to be a long 90 mins holding her up on the barrier 🤣

Wait spaces in the safe standing surely this can't be right. I thought that it was the magic cure to the atmosphere and  there would be no problem filling them up.

Man Utd begin significant expansion of rail seating at Old Trafford | Manchester United

Manchester United have begun work on a significant expansion of rail seating at Old Trafford, with 6,000 additional safe standing seats being installed in Tier 2 of the Stretford End.

The project will double the current provision of rail seats inside the stadium, making Old Trafford one of the Premier League’s leading venues for safe standing.

The first phase of seats will be in place for the upcoming fixture against Sunderland. However, the section will remain licensed as seated for that game until the installation is completed and formally approved by the Sports Grounds Safety Authority (SGSA).

The club expects the installation work to be finished by the end of October, though formal approval from the SGSA to use the area as safe standing may follow at a later date.

This latest development reflects the club’s ongoing investment in enhancing the matchday experience, with safe standing widely recognised for boosting atmosphere while also improving safety.
