Morgan and Huth should have been fazed out last summer. Maguire is a superb signing, we now need another bit of quality alongside him.
Wymsey Posted 10 September 2017 Posted 10 September 2017 Schmeichel 6 - distribution and ball-handling was fine, but reacted too slowly for Kante's goal. Simpson 5 - Average. Really need competition here. Maguire 6 - was strong again at times, but sometimes didn't mark effectively well. Morgan 6 - Steady, but seemed to have lost some pace over time. Fuchs 6 - was in control when under pressure towards him, feel Chilwell is slightly better overall. Mahrez 5 - was ok, but got into the habit of being lazy and perhaps lacking in confidence as well. Ndidi 6 - strong and willing but was sloppy at times. James 5 - calm with the ball but was average. Albrighton 6 - not his best game and felt he was let down by others around him. Slimani 6 - should've scored in the big opportunity just before they scored. Genuinely feel he's lacking in confidence and he was too slow to react during certain periods. Vardy 7 - typical Vardy performance. Will be great to have another player like him in the future, and the same personal goal-scoring success he has had - but that will be a difficult feat to match imo. Subs: King 5 - steadied the ship in the middle somewhat, but was average. Gray 5 - clearly has potential, but it's frustrating to see him make basic ball-possession mistakes. Iheanacho - Not Applicable, should've come on at half-time.
WigstonWanderer Posted 10 September 2017 Posted 10 September 2017 Surprised Gray is taking so much stick. I haven't been his greatest fan, but thought this was a much improved performance. The usual frustrations when he first came on but he grew into the match and played a significant part in the incident leading to the penalty. Also he seems to be getting bigger, stronger and more prepared to put in work defensively.
UPinCarolina Posted 11 September 2017 Posted 11 September 2017 Wes is my MOTM. Always seemed to be in the right place, at the right time.
Sionnach gorm Posted 11 September 2017 Posted 11 September 2017 Not the worst performance, but the team seems aimless. Looks like a pick up game at the local parish. Our defense is still very weak. I hope Shakey steps it up.
Kinowe Soorie Posted 11 September 2017 Posted 11 September 2017 I think Wes should have done better for the their goal. He has had a lot on his mind though recently...

There was a time when they broke and had one over but he got back and won the ball back.
Finnegan Posted 11 September 2017 Posted 11 September 2017 Morata offside or not, Morgan was nowhere near him and has cost us several goals already this season with shit marking from crosses. His blocking and tackling when the ball is on the ground might be excellent but defending crosses and headers he's shit.

Sure, he could've done better blocking the first goal but he still played well overall. We don't judge a player over one mistake Disagree. Morata was quicker in thought and action throughout. Morgan did well to hang on as long as he did, but Morata was clearly too big a mouthful for him. And he would've been for Maguire as well who doesn't strike me as having much game anticipation.

How can something be 'obvious' when you've never seen these two play together. Not once. I agree with Fox92, Huth and Wes probably do both need replacing now. They're not the future but both have been absolutely superb for us.
Kinowe Soorie Posted 11 September 2017 Posted 11 September 2017 I was at the Burton friendly, and I'm pretty sure Wes got done in the air against them!? Also Man U??
DatfoxesKid23 Posted 11 September 2017 Posted 11 September 2017 Gray was better than he was against united trying to pass more but failed to make passes because he tried to be too fancy he should study mahrez less and albrighton more
