Can we stop saying Farage is going to be prime minister?  He really really isn't.

Italy was promised most of the Adriatic coast for joining the Entente in WW1. They didn't get it. Life sucks; get used to it.

Neither myself or Jon are boomers and we often disagree with each other.

Points of Note.

Britain colonised the Falklands after Spain (not Argentina) abandoned them. Argentina have never settled them. France discovered them.

Unlike Argentina, the Falklands had no indigenous people, so did not have to be taken by force and the subjugation of the native people, so the initial permanent settlers there (and therefore the natives) were British.

Quod Erat Demonstrandum, the islands are British.

I don't particularly care other than facts be correctly presented, cos I'm a massive pedant.

Unfortunately just been in the car listening to 5Live which has just been a back slapping session for Angela Rayner - mainly down to the callers but every single person who called in made the same point that ''she working class and has grit, single mum innit , deserves it'' and when anyone mentioned her tax misdemeanor it's just brushed under the carpet like it never happened. I don't how these people can be so brainwashed that she is some kind of super politician. If the shoe was on the other foot imagine the uproar lol

Trying to take an even view, it's a bit dumb messing up your taxes when you're deputy prime minister and losing that job would have stung quite a lot!

That said, in her particular case I might be remembering wrong but I don't think there was a serious suggestion of intent behind the error?

There's been far worse tax errors brushed under the carpet by the other parties since then so it's kinda moot.

Personally don't think it's a bad thing heading somebody with her backstory in politics giving their insights. Labour politicians often get pointed at as not really being working class yet Rayner gets sly digs for being too working class.

I'm not strongly minded either way with her tbh though there is one picture of her where she looked kinda good so on that basis I fully support her....

Isn't that the same praise/criticism angle for all politicians? Why are Farage and Trump liked - 'because they get it yeh they fight for the people.'

She clearly messed up her taxes but she resigned and was cleared by the HMRC.

The shoe has been on the other foot. Zahawi was fined by HMRC, found guilty and instead of resigning had to be pushed out by Sunak and went off crying about a smear campaign, an obvious lie perpetuated by the media who painted it as 'an attack on wealth creation.'

Even if I shared the same views as Raynor I'd think she's a liability. She's just not very bright

Yeah I know. Some times I just like to bite and see if I can pull the maggot off.
