Webbo Posted 17 September 2017 Author Posted 17 September 2017 There was talk in the mods room last year about a weekly quiz. Someone would have to write the questions, maybe we could take it in turns. Would anyone be interested?
SystonFox Posted 17 September 2017 Posted 17 September 2017 To add to my yes. It was a yes to take part. Not write questions. Apologies
Strokes Posted 17 September 2017 Posted 17 September 2017 Yeah I'd be up for it, anything to avoid the football forum.

There was some software involved so I'm guessing there'd have to be multiple choice questions. I think we'd need a few question setters as 1 person would soon run out of things to ask.
Izzy Posted 17 September 2017 Posted 17 September 2017 I bet the 'mods room' has got Sky TV, a free mini bar and hookers parading around in their undies and everything. And Webbo sat in a big armchair stroking a white cat talking about getting some of us plebs to write a weekly quiz for him

I've got an idea for some but a few suggestions would be welcome. They don't all have to be Mastermind standard, I'm looking for a mix of abilities type questions. I've been reading the responses, some of the questions are very good but many are quite tough. I set the odd quiz and try to get a range of difficulty within the ten questions on each topic. That way every team gets something (no-one feels good if they only get two out of ten) but only the very knowledgeable get top marks. I also try to test knowledge on a variety of sports. The questions below are from my last quiz (with answers). Which cricketer holds the record for the highest test batting average for England? Herbert Sutcliffe Which football club plays its home matches at Fratton Park? Portsmouth Which snooker player won the World Championship on fifteen consecutive occasions? Joe Davis Which was the first city in the USA to host the Olympic Games? St Louis How many players are there in an ice hockey team? Six Which darts player won the world championship in 1979, 1987 and 1993? John Lowe Which woman has won the most singles titles at Wimbledon? Martina Navratilova (9) In which year did England win its only Rugby Union World Championship? 2003 Which US city has sporting teams called Tigers, Red Wings, Lions and Pistons? Detroit Aerial, floater, soul arch and kick out are all manoeuvres in which sport? Surfing
Webbo Posted 18 September 2017 Author Posted 18 September 2017 Who would be interested in setting some questions for a weekly quiz? It wouldn't have to be about sport, there could be different categories.
