Hamer - 5 - Didn't have a lot to do and distribution wasn't all that.

Amartey - 7 - Solid, had nothing to contend with as Man City's left hand side was there to be gotten at all game.

Dragovic - 4 - Awful. A country mile away from the first team.

Maguire - 8 - MOTM for me. Lead by example and his distribution was first class.

Fuchs - 6 - Bernardo Silva gave him a really rough time but he worked his nads off so I've given him a bonus point.

Albrighton - 5 - Started very slowly, picked it up a bit but was rightly taken off. Not his night.

King - 6 - Plays with his back to goal too much for my liking. Looked for the easy pass rather than looking to turn out of Man City's press.

Iborra - 6 - Similar to King.

Chilwell - 5 - Worked hard but didn't really do a lot. Still showed plenty of his potential.

Okazaki - 7 - I don't think he'll start Saturday. He did about 3 games worth of running.

Iheanacho - 4 - If he took that chance I think it'd be a different story. Good save but he should have scored.

Vardy - 8 - Love him to bits. Never gives anything up.

Mahrez - 7 - Turned the De Bruyne lookalike inside out.

Gray - 7 - Made an 50m right back look a bit poor. I don't think it was a pen but I don't think he dived either.

Benalouane - 2 - Comfortably the worst player in the senior team.

Puel - 6 - I think he should have played a stronger team but I think for the most part he did well against Guardiola. Apart from the goal and the Maguire clearance they didn't trouble us.

Hamer - 6 - Did alright to be fair apart from that one moment of confusion with Fuchs.

Amartey - 5 Surprised to see some pretty high scores for him, defended ok I suppose but lacks so much confidence on the ball, backwards all the time.

Dragovic - 5 Mixed bag really, terrible for their goal

Maguire - 8 If he didn't ball watch occasionally he'd be world class, can do pretty much everything.

Fuchs - 5 Struggled with the ball over him

Albrighton - 5 Our only half threat first half

King - 5 Chased shadows really, no impact.

Iborra - 6 Needs legs alongside him, tried but struggled. could have done without him having to play 120 minutes

Chilwell - 6 Can't fault his effort, tried to get forward but not sure about him as a left midfielder

Iheanacho - 6 Did ok at times, but needs chances on a plate for him. We just don't suit him.

Okazaki - 6 Effort as always without much joy

Vardy - 7 You only realise how hard he works when you see someone else play up front, lifted everyone. Lacks quality at times though.

Mahrez - 6 Our only hope of scoring in open play

Gray - 5 'won' the pen with a good run but didn't do much else.

Hamer - 6 - Not that much to do, but dealt with the few Man City shots reasonably well (though didn't really exude any confidence).

Amartey - 6 - Battled well, always tries hard and obviously does have some class.

Dragovic - 5 - Not really up to it.  I doubt if we'll take up the Buy option at the end of his Loan.

Maguire - 8 - MotM - not just in defence.  A 21st century Steve Walsh - If only he could get headers in the opposition box on target !  He can even take a decent Penalty.

Fuchs - 4 - Past it, but took a good Pen.

Albrighton - 6 - Did OK when he had the ball (which wasn't very often)

King - 4 - Absolutely anonymous, a total waste of a selection

Iborra - 7 - Started really slowly, but grew into the game and overall he was by far our most effective midfield / forward player.  Should be our nominated penalty taker now Vardy has been found out.

Chilwell - 5 - Didn't look good, even though he was in his best position (left midfield)

Okazaki - 6 - Usual Shinji, tried SO hard.

Iheanacho - 5 - Tried harder than he ever has before; but overall, he just doesn't seem to have it.  He's far too slow and ungainly and certainly doesn't fit in to ANY style of play we adopt at the moment, though I suppose he could in the future (he is only 21).

Vardy - 7 - As normal now, far too isolated and just not getting the ball enough.  When we do get it to him, he's a dangerous as ever and ALWAYS works for the team.  Made such a difference when he came on.  Should be relieved of Penalty duties now though - he clearly has been 'found out' !

Mahrez - 6 - As normal, flashes of brilliance, but other teams have found him out now and clatter him out of the game too much.

Gray - 7 - Again, made a big impact and looked the most likely to threaten the Man City defence.  Should have come on before.  But he didn't deserve a Pen !

Benalouane - 5 - not really on long enough to make an big impression, but he did look more confident than Dragovic.

Puel - 5 - Poor team selection.  With that Man City side, we could easily have won.  He should have gone for something closer to our first choice team (possibly with a couple of 'reserves').  I would have given him a 4, but at least he recognised our limitations in time and brought the quality players on.  It almost worked - if only Bravo didn't know which way to dive, to save penalties from two of those 'quality players' (he had the Vardy one well covered, even if it was going wide) - clearly he did his research !

Hamer 6 - He had a brainfart moment at the beginning (shared with Fuchs)  but I thought he was very good overall and I'd give him 7 if it wasn't for the penalties. Some goalies just can't save penos. But I don't think Schmeichel would save any of them either

Amartey 8 -  MOTM I think Puel should rotate him with Simpson more often. Had a great game, made good decisions when it mattered, was pretty tidy and at times rode his luck. Decent passing too, compared to our other defenders. Should be more careful with the sideways passes in the future though so they won't end as gifts for the opposition forwards :santa:

Fuchs 6  -  Suspect in defence. Looked past his best for most of the regular 90 mins but later in the second half had one or two great moments. And that penalty!... I'm afraid his legs are gone though, we need someone quicker

Maguire 7 - Top bloke, I love his offensive runs. If only he could head the ball better, like Huth

Drago 5 - the floor was a bit too slippery for him, but it's hard to expect miracles after bench warming for ages

King 6 - Lots of backward passes, wasn't bad though. Could, should do better of course

Vince 6 - As above, plus some misplaced passes. Did quite alright but I expected him to do better, impose himself on the game. Underwhelming

Allbrighton - 6 so-so

Chillwell - 6 If only he could PASS! Sometimes forgets to defend too

Shinji  8 - Can't stop the samurai. Even when some players looked a bit too apathetic, quitting was never an option for Shinji. At 96 minute he ran back after Toure and robbed him of the ball then passed it to Grey to launch his penalty winning run. Hero

Nacho 6 - he did quite alright. As with Drago, one can hardly expect him to play a blinder. He's barely played. I wish he tried to press their defenders more, like and Okazaki do

Mahrez 7.5 - I'd give him 8 if it wasn't for the penalty. That stuttering routine he always does is awful, I'd rather if he just smashed it in the middle instead

Grey 7 - Some good runs, won a peno. Good lad.

Vards 7 - Feels like Nacho has so much to learn from him. Kept us in the game, a pity about the shootout

Bennny  - N/A

Puel 8 - great subs. I for one don't blame him for rotating. We played most of our strongest team for the majority of the game anyway. Wilf was sorely missed... If some of the passes were timed better or more accurate... But it's a game of IFs

I wonder if CP does the right thing alienating our costly strikers. Slim and Moose must be gift-wrapped already, soon to be shipped. Things aren't looking bright for Nacho either. I'd like him to feature more, otherwise what's the point of having him in the squad.

I am shocked how many people don't have Fuchs as the worst performance by far.

For two years his magnificent throw has been covering the fact that he can't defend in the prem and it continues. He was a disaster defensively. If that was Chilwell people would be giving him 1's.

Nice to see someone appreciate the fact that players who are being written off need game time.

Still think a few on the fringes would offer us more than some of the first 11 in some positions, if allowed game time to get up to speed.
