What happens to these 3 then?

 

Moore - There could be an opportunity for him if Morgan’s injury is long term. I don’t expect him to start because Huth is coming back, but he’d be a good option in the cup.

 

Thomas - Should start against Fleetwood to see if he can make an impact. 

 

Barnes - Should start against Fleetwood also. Think there’s potential there to make an impact in the number 10 position.

Obviously Thomas was on the bench at Anfield so hopefully he's around the first team. Barnes too. Both look good prospects. Chuck them in, no harm in seeing what they can do.

Hughes or Knight will be ahead of Moore. The club from what I gather have been unsure on Moore’s long term future hence the short contract extension he signed. That’s not to say he won’t get a chance to make it here. 

 

Thomas I think will now go on loan if Barnes stays put, which I think he will. This will be beneficial for Thomas if he can go to a half decent Championship team. Coleman wants him at Sunderland but whether there’s a better club for him remains to be seen.

We will have to be careful not to throw too many in together against Fleetwood and have a nightmare.

I would play a couple of them.

Is Thomas a 9 or 10? Possibly play him alongside Slimani and Someone like Hughes alongside Maguire so they can learn from the experienced pros.

The Shrewsbury farce springs to mind.

 

We should have a mix of youth and experience, if Morgan is out long term, we should play Dragovic and Maguire to get them used to each other, Amartey needs more time at RB, not sure about Chilwell's fitness and if we have any other options at left back.

 

Midfield, Silva and James need games, Ndidi needs a rest and Iborra has had a few knocks recently.

 

Shame Vardy isn't 100% so unlikely to play, would have been nice to give him 5 minutes at the end against Fleetwood, but not worth the risk. Have Barnes and Thomas with Gray and either Nacho or Slim up front, should be enough, solid and strong at the back and in the middle let the kids run riot up front.

Bit baffled by people wanting our reserves out V Fleetwood, We lost to 10 man Millwall by doing that last year.

 

I would probably put Barnes and Thomas on the bench but other than that we need to have a decent team out to win.

Pretty much exactly what I would do but I think Vardy will feature, sounds to me like he’s specifically asked to play in it hence not being risked yesterday.
