Hes 50:50 Lab and Golden retriever. He's slim and very aware of weight, 30kg. Sorry I meant supplements not meds!

Has anyone got a Goldendoodle? I'm convincing myself that I need a pooch and looking at various breeds. Looking for a medium size, easy to look after dog as I'm a first timer. Has to look cute to win over Mrs Spud and be friendly with my daughters cocker/lab cross. Also like Beagle's but can't let them off leash to play fetch. Have to be totally sure before I get one. I can commit to walks and providing for whatever he needs. Mrs Spud will treat it like a child and spoil it rotten. Any other recommendations?

Only breed for me. Deep pockets needed mind you. Tula our Brittish bulldog.

I'd recommend going to the local dog shelter and seeing who is looking for a new home, and then going from there. If you're local to Leicester, Woodside RSPCA shelter on Scudamore Road is great

My wife had two in the past, they are lovely dogs, and pretty easy to look after, but some can shed quite a bit compared to other poodle crosses, so possibly extra hoovering 😅 
 

I have Cockerpoo now, no shedding but very intelligent and high energy, but I probably would not recommend for first time, can be hard work. But they are extremely popular these days, and are pretty darn cute.
 

As a general rule any pure working breeds or crosses of two working breeds will require a good amount of daily exercise and mental stimulation, so need an active household really, if they don’t get the stimulation they need, they will find some (often destructive) way to work out the mental and physical energy. I take mine and runs and it’s still sometimes not enough for her in cooler months (cocker spaniels and poodles both originally bred to be water dogs/working dogs).

My mate has one and he ended up way bigger than they expected.  Fabulous dog - lovely temperament and intelligent. Shit scared of thunder thought
