Seems they are getting pin badges and half/half scarfs.

The thing is I bet we see Bournemouth fans at a Lincoln game sometime in the future now!

Great stuff. I did see quite a few Lincoln fans around and wondered why.

But how did this actually come about? Did they just rock up? How did they get tickets? I can only imagine our ticket office going into complete meltdown trying to process this?

I spoke to a Lincoln city fan and they reckoned it was pay on the gate.

Ya my son & I Season Ticket Holders at KP and live just down road from Lincoln been going few games when not at Leicester games think they have stolen our Atmosphere as well really good there at the minute. Took a very good friend to the KP at the weekend who introduced me to my first games at Leicester 45 years ago and he felt that Saturday was one of the worst Atmosphere’s he had been in at a leicester game that he can remember

Loved this video of Lincoln and Bournemouth fans at half time on Saturday. If anyone doesn't know, their game at Coventry was called off so a coach load of them popped into the KP instead, resulting in the biggest 'infiltration' of the away end since May 7th 2016.

That Lincoln chant that goes 'if you throw a brick at him he'll head the f***er back' is about their captain Luke Waterfall. We really should nick that for a Robert Huth chant, if he ever gets back in the team.

Forgive me if I use this opportunity to indulge in a little personal reminiscence. Back in the late 70s I was in London for the weekend and decided to go along to Stamford Bridge to see an FA Cup game. At about 2.30 I was on a tube full of Chelsea fans (apologies at this stage to anyone living in Paris to whom the phrase 'a tube full of Chelsea fans' has unfortunate associations) when word got round that the game was off. Everyone decided to head for Highbury where Arsenal were playing Wolves. I tagged along, and we made it into the Clock End just in time for kick off. For a 12 year old traveling alone across the capital for the first time this was a fantastic adventure. Inside the ground, the Chelsea fans made no attempt at disguise, instead spending much of the game loudly proclaiming their allegiance, thus causing a good deal of bemusement, but as far as I recall absolutely no antagonism, among the Arsenal fans. I can still recall Kenny Hibbitt's beautiful equaliser, but missed Arsenal's late winner as I stupidly left five minutes early to avoid the crush at Highbury station. What were Leicester doing that afternoon? Being dumped out of the Cup by Walslall.

Anyone else had a similar experience?

I had a similar experience but not quite the same. I was on a coach full of let's say 'Leicester lads' (in 1980 I think) travelling to a midweek away game at Bristol Rovers. We were heading down the M5 just south of Birmingham when we heard on the radio that the match was postponed. One of the lads checked the fixtures in his newspaper and it was decided that the best alternative option would be Walsall v York which was a Div 3 match, so we headed back northbound and we arrived at Walsall about two hours before kick-off. Unfortunately, unlike your experience the trouble started almost immediately as 40-50 lads who had already been drinking were dropped off by the coach driver fairly close to the ground. A couple of lads went straight into a local grocers shop and helped themselves to a haul of bottles and cans of booze without paying. This didn't please the shopkeeper who came out of the shop to try and apprehend the culprits. A melee then ensued and all the locals started coming out of their terraced houses with bats and sticks and all hell broke loose. The locals chased all the Leicester lads down the road to a derelict building site where a frightening brick fight took place. As a 17 year old it was quite terrifying and I had never seen anything like it before. Things didn't get much better when we eventually got into the ground as there was more trouble on the terraces between Leicester and home fans. I was much relieved to get home unscathed in the early hours of the next morning.

Not something that I enjoyed or would condone, especially as I've matured somewhat now but just thought I'd share it as that was what it was like quite often back in those days. :(

Good story. What is it about Walsall? I've only been there three or four times and something bad always happens.

By the way, I said that Arsenal game was trouble free, but I found this clip on youtube and as you can see from the comments below the video, my recollection was totally wrong:

Getting back to the KP:

Here's the thread on the Lincoln forum about last Saturday:

And on the Bournemouth forum:

I did wonder how a load of Chelsea fans infiltrating the clock end at Highbury in the late seventies could go off trouble free! lol

I can remember a load of Snotters turning up at Filbert Street for the Leatherhead FA Cup match in mid-seventies.

Just had to investigate this one. Once I started, I couldn't stop...

Yep - 1975, 4th round - Forest's game at Fulham was called off due to heavy rain. When it was finally played, the match was historic for both clubs. Clough decided it was time to bring John Robertson into the team. Forest actually lost the tie, though, after three replays, and Fullham went all the way to Wembley, the closest they ever came to winning the Cup. Here's an excellent blog that tells the Fulham story, including their 3rd round 2nd replay against Hulll at neutral Filbert Street in front of a crowd of about 4,000.

As for Leicester, after that dramatic win against Leaatherhead, we lost to Arsenal after two replays. (Suspicious number of replays in this story, right?)
