What’s your definition of a ‘Natural Finisher’. I think that fact that for a lot of goals Vardy scores he doesn’t even look at the goal, he knows where it is.

It came up because Mill and Warnock were saying that Sterling would be a better 2nd striker (in a two) because he’s ‘technically better’ and Vardy can’t play 1-2’s or lay offs! Implying both aren’t natural finishers so you go with Sterling.

Vardy v Man Utd (17/18)

Vardy v Spurs (home 17/18)

Vardy v WBA (17/18)

All natural finishes plus I'm sure many more from previous seasons. It's pathetic how badly Mills doesn't rate him.

Spot on Finners with everything here. It was painfully obvious that was a tactic.

Still think Vardy and Kane is the best way to go but unfortunately not in this system.

Indeed. Play the two people who scored the most goals, for crying out loud!

Saw Mills starting XI on TV and in order to squeeze in his faves, we're apparently going to play 3-4-3 and that didn't include Maguire either.

Genuine boblicker.

Tbf to Wrighty he wasn't saying Vardy was shit, he was just saying that when the game isn't going his way he needs to drop deeper and make himself available.

I get that, I understand the point.

Given Vards does that for Leicester though I'd say he was probably acting under orders.

Moreover, I think its worth pointing out what was overlooked at half time which is that he was tying up three defenders at a time and, in addition, the fact he was pushing up and forcing them to keep such a deep line is WHY Rashford had miles of space to operate between the lines.

You need to step back sometimes in sport and look with a wider lens at what's happening and what's causing it. It's an inability to do that that left Okazaki wildly under rated by even a lot of our own fans over the years.

It's not always what you do with a ball that changes a game and sometimes something subtle has a huge impact.

The point Pochettino made that time is great, how on average you only have the ball for 3 minutes in a game so it's ridiculous how much people overlook the other 87 minutes of off the ball play. You can have a good game without being on the ball much.

Mentioned this in the specific match thread. He did his job. In England with tons of 'attacking midfielders' and no 10's, it's not a bad tactic to deploy. Give the opposition a choice - do they play higher or deeper meaning a Lingard/Rashford/Sterling can hurt you.
