Have any "ITK's" got anything right this window?

I dont seem to have seen anything that was a clear win for the ITK's (im not having a go) in this window.

 

Has anyone got the info out to us early and been right?

I’m sympathetic to people who genuinely have some inside info (which is I suspect the case for our ITKs). How much information should they give out without betraying a trust or actually compromising a deal? What risk is there to their position at the club (if they have one) or to that of their source?

 

On top of that the information they get may be half baked, second hand or otherwise unreliable. In addition, what is the best info available one minute becomes incorrect as deals fall through or plans change.

 

I don’t think we should be too hard on people if they genuinely have something to pass on, but should be sceptical as to it’s value.

I wasn't having a go at anyone because i certainly appreciate any info. 

 

I was just interested that the club seem to have done a lot of work this window, without being "outed" compared to previous windows.

Maybe the tightening up on info should make people much more sceptical of any rumour from any source (Sky, for example) - it was slightly worrying to see people losing their minds over the Diouf rumour, it showed that people are willing to react without any rational thought.

Off the top of my head...

 

Callabinho on Maddison (months early - mid April)

Sylo on Pereira (a few days early)

Ashley on Mepham (a few days early)

Arty_fox on Simpson leaving (months early)

 

I've only included things that seemed unlikely to happen at the time but did, as it is difficult to tell how much importance to give something that was already probably going to happen (eg bids coming in for Maguire), or info that is impossible to substantiate (eg dressing room unrest).

 

Similarly it is difficult to prove ITKs wrong as interest/transfers fall through all the time. The only definite wrong info this window has been Themightyfin on Macia having left us.

It's happened plenty (usually to do with us abusing each other lol )

I always enjoy the transfer window free-for-all. 

 

Imagine how boring it would be without the ITK rumour mill.  If we criticise them every time that a rumour doesn't come off we'll end up deterring them from posting any rumours at all.

 

I would imagine our ITKs are not privvy to every murmur from the heirarchy but will pick up snippets here and there.  I would also think that the club have plenty of irons in fires that never really get off the ground.  It doesn't mean that the info is incorrect and anyway, transfer situations are fluid and liable to change from hour to hour.

 

I say let the ITKs feed the transfer talk monster without holding every word to account

Seriously, do you think that any ITKs consciously lie to us?

 

They might get things wrong, there might not be much substance to a rumour or things might change, but I doubt if people just make things up.
