They might get things wrong, there might not be much substance to a rumour or things might change, but I doubt if people just make things up.

Not in the sense they make a rumour up out of nothing, but I believe a lot of what is said is just recycled from twitter or other sources and passed off as their own information. I can count on a couple of fingers the times we've been given transfer information on here before it's all over the twitter already.

 

I should add, that I believe many do get information, we see that with kit info or match info, or leaks about bits and bobs. But, I also think there is innate desire to be seen as knowing this information, which leads to people trying to pass off things they have no knowledge, taking flyers based on rumours that already exist etc.

 

I'm pretty active on twitter and love trawling for news. It's pretty obvious that if I stumble across something on there, come on here later in the day and someone ITK is saying "we're in talks with a defender", when we were linked with a defender three hours earlier. My bullshit radar starts twitching, and I can't help wonder why this information is rarely offered up before it's available elsewhere. If I was half arsed, I could post everything I see on twitter, every rumour and I'll be right enough times to look like I know what I'm talking about.

 

That's just one persons opinion, the site owners opinion (I think) is that it stirs up debate, creates traffic and that each person is free to believe whatever they want to believe. The last bit of course is absolutely true, I don't like it but others seem oblivious to it, so they can knock themselves out.

 

Anyway, I'd best stop before Finners tells me I'm being sanctimonious again.

my links have dried up, i used to know a bit but im out of it now. 

 

The bailey stuff i heard was genuine and i think there were enquiries.

 

It amuses me that i get some messages off people asking whos farted at the club.....

Think that due to all the complexities involving transfers even someone truly ITK people can be nowhere near certain of any deals. Selling clubs want as good a deal as possible for them, players and their agents want the best deal for them and buying clubs want to pay as little as possible. These 3 things open up so many possibilities. It cannot be as straightforward as some clearly seem to believe.

I'm very grateful for the "ITK's" (and there are clearly 1 or 2 users on here that actually get somewhat reliable information)

 

It's your own issue if you can't 

a) Filter out the obvious attention seekers

b) Understand that information provided by the more reliable ones doesn't necessarily mean that the player will be signed.

It's not what I was led to believe, that's all

 

I posted information I was given once and that wasn't taken too kindly and I ended up getting banned for 'making stuff up'. Despite having posted stuff in past that was right. I don't claim to be ITK (or want to be known as one) but it got me in trouble (banned for a week?!) so I can't be arsed any more.

I don't get the whole hang up on ITK, I just don't get people getting their knickers in a twist about it.

 

It's a internet forum, you choose who posts you read, just don't read them rather than get in a huff about.

As social media has progressed, and the club has become more popular. It definitely seems like the ITK conduit is getting narrower.

Years ago the real people that were ITK would break names that not linked prior and normally go on to sign.

This doesn’t really happen anymore just look at the transfer thread, most players are linked via press or social media months or years before.

I guess Twitter is the main game changer, because you have 10s of thousands (at least in the prem searching/configured for ingoing and outgoing links to their clubs.

The lad that gets the info on the kits was absolutely spot on with every single detail they gave out this year. 

 

Some of the info on Hazard, IN MY OPINION was total guess work that came to light as being nonsense when BM came out and said categorically that no bid had came in. 

 

There was another lad ( can't remember his name) who was just passing on info that looked likely based on the info that was out there but being was vague enough to save face when it didn't work out. 

 

I appreciate any info, I just feel that people (even those who get info) like the thought of people hanging off every word so play up to it and embellish it a bit.
