I think the guy gets a bit of a raw deal. Yes we know he's a walking bombscare but he doesn't get sent off that often! Ok...he also doesn't play that often. Fine. But I've always thought that outside of this trait he actually possesses quite good technical ability, you know he's never going to back out of a challenge, he's brave, he has a great if a little quirky attitude/outlook and one day one of those cross-field diagonals is actually going to reach its intended target. At least he's trying to pass it and not just hoof it. I can think of much worse backups than Benny even though we are probably paying him far too much. If he took a pay cut, I'd want him to stay.

How many times have we been told over the last couple of years that he has been linked with different clubs but nothing ever happens!

I actually agree with this. Think there's a decent player in there and you know he'll drop a level and some club will be absolutely astounded at how good the player they're getting is

Surely with all the CBs we now have Benny just won’t get a look in and is surplus to requirements.

Ligue 1 side Nantes are in negotiations with Tunisian central defender Yohan Benalouane, according to 20 Minutes.

Has anyone seen any updates on this rumour about Benny's contract being terminated being accurate ?  It must be, there's no way we wouldn't have shifted him out before yesterday's deadline otherwise - even if it meant paying some of his wages, to get him out on loan.
