I really don't see the big deal with this. He needs to be playing football every week. Celtic came in for him, he wanted to move there. He will play in front of huge crowds and with a pressure to win every match. Rodgers is known for playing a very similar brand of football to Puel. It may not be the best league in the world, but Celtic are a decent team, that play good football and most importantly, he should get a lot of first team football and be ready for next season, where he will still only be 3rd or 4th choice most likely, so this move is just another step in his development. Some posters are trying to make it a bigger issue than it is.

I think it's the opposite of an issue, in fact.

Good news that we have a January recall option, if needed.

 

I like the sound of his attitude in that article. Sounds like a positive lad, ambitious but realistic - and focused on using his loan to build a future with LCFC (he didn't have to say that in an interview with a Scottish paper).

Good move for him, hope he gets to play a good few games before his return which could be January if he starts off well or Maguire does leave earlier than planned....

For a 21 year old to have moved clubs twice in the space of a few weeks, to a new country, throwing him straight in to one of the biggest rivalries in football would have been a baptism of fire, to say the least. To be included in the matchday squad to soak up the atmosphere was more than enough, and I'm sure he'll start seeing gametime in a slightly less hostile fixture...

I know players have to say the right things to the press but he does come across really well there.  I wish him the best of luck and hopefully he will come back a better player.

 

Also, its like he has read this thread and responded directly to every single point people have raised on here about it not a good move for him or not what he wanted.  X

He’ll learn more under Rodgers who’s managed in the prem and playing in Europe than playing for Frank Lampard who’s managed about 10 games in his life
