Wouldn't be surprised if the Midlands has some form of bad record for it, and the good liklihood that ghere's thousands of incidents like this that haven't been uncovered yet.

Definitely. I reckon it will come out in Birmingham eventually.

I'm not sure on that - the whole thing is certainly making him money though.

2million quid allegedly in his account and just moved into a £950,000 house.

Well, you can bet that not all of that money is coming from the working-class folks he claims to represent.

Wonder who's doing the big bankrolling?

Does say a flood of small amounts in the piece. I'd imagine he's got donations coming in from all across the World.

former assistant to Robinson, who had access to his Stripe online payment processing account, claimed it contained £2m after his jailing and appeal, thanks to a flood of donations, mostly small amounts. Another former assistant, Lucy Brown, told The Sunday Times in August that Robinson operated a “business” in which “your outrage, valid as it is, will be monetised as such”.

Robinson recently moved into a £950,000 house in an upmarket village in Bedfordshire. The detached, gated property has four bedrooms, a two- bedroom annexe and a double garage.

Definitely agree with what Miss Brown said there and I've no doubt there's a fair few folk out there willing to chip in for him, but that's also a hell of a lot of small amounts...not to mention the chunk he'd need for that property.

Still think there's someone higher up the food chain either feeding him a little here...or perhaps making it look like others are, which is smarter. The kind of outrage he generates is useful to certain parties, after all.

Interesting. The article makes it clear that these men have been found guilty of raping and abusing kids, yet the conversation turns almost instantly away from this issue and again onto Tommy Robinson...

Are people on here genuinely not totally appalled at what is clearly still happening or is it only when you have kids that the realisation of the horror of this sinks in?

I’m sure I read yesterday that an estimated over 1000 kids in Huddersfield are in some way linked to this atrocity.

It is an atrocity you know...

It's disgusting, it's vile, it's makes me angry that these men feel that they can do this to vulnerable young women and there's a clear issue within these local communities and within social services and how this has been allowed to happen time and time again. The problem is Tommy Robinson attempts to direct the conversation regarding this topic (something for right or wrong that he does very well), so that's why it's easy to jump to him and his racist views.

2 million is only 40000 people donating 50 quid - with his audience that's well within reach.

If he was being funded by someone wealthy I'm sure the press would have the information by now.

There’s a strong argument to say that Robinson is doing far more harm than good not only in relation to racism, but by deflecting attention away from what these ‘men’ are doing and onto himself. When Robinson becomes the spotlight, the real issue at hand gets put onto the back-row and the audience focus on the bloke on the stage. Like what’s happening in this thread. Personally I don’t care about Tommy fookin Robinson, about how big is house is or how much money he is. I do care that kids are being subjected to stuff which will adversely affect them their whole lives.

Wouldn't be the first time deniable money came secretly to such folks in a way that couldn't or wouldn't be traced, would it, though?

Like you, I'd think that some journo would likely have got a sniff by now but I'm not going to dismiss the idea out of hand - not when in the current political climate someone like Robinson is so useful.

Agree with this, as well. Many of his backers/supporters couldn't understand this fact though - yet when it's relaid to them what the legalities of it all, they're apparently all 'gang-rape enthusiasts' lol. Absolute joke how his involvement in this case nearly screwed the whole thing up yet even he was too fvcking stupid to realise - he loves publicity whether it's good or bad and sometimes doesn't realise the ramifications of his actions.

Pretty much. Although I do enjoy the memes that can come out of him shooting his mouth (and thankfully getting dealt with to avoid collapsing the trial, either letting them free or causing thousands to be spent on a retrial) about media outlets not covering it (until the reporting restrictions are lifted)

This shows the abuse and intimidation the families go through as well trying to report it.

Quite frightening and calls into question how effective our justice system and policing is.

‘Quite frightening’ has to be one of this week’s understatements Matt. This should be the focus, not daft memes about Robinson.

Robinson made it all about himself, he alone is responsible for that.

Atleast the media are no longer scared of stating that in majority of these cases it's "Muslim men" as opposed to saying they were "Asian".

I’m not in any disagreement that there is a disproportional level of this type of ‘grooming gang offending’ present in certain cultures whose crimes are obviously abhorrent. What additionally concerns me though is the disproportion in outrage to the other cultures and individuals who commit paedophilic acts and are caught and sentenced. It’s only part of the bigger picture. Paedophillia is present across cultures and manifests itself in different ways accordingly - this is just one genre, an appalling genre none the less, but no more attributable to all people of a culture than other type of identified cultural related paedophillic offending.

Has there though? It feels like it just gets swept under the carpet until the next scandal!

There has been documentaries over several channels. All Paper media have been reporting and discussing it

since at least the 1980s. Major magazines haven't let it go!!..Dave Allen the Irish comedien..subtlety dropped hints in his comedy half hour.1970s

This last 5 years the Catholic and other Relgious organisations to their credit have attacked it...

Information and reports. Pinging and reverberating around these organisations walls....Not just UK but other European states.

The  can has really  been ripped open...no hiding place anymore...,but I suppose it still goes on!!!

Like any religious sides of Peoples,I respect their beliefs, their perspectives.I have a close fratinity with many Islam,Buddists and Hindu lands, through friends,

Through my various distant long travels....But many are also being allowed to get away with known, vices, misendeamours, and criminal activities...

They hide behind close knit communities...This is picking out..on the single issue for purpose of argument.

This should not be seen as an discredit or demeaner of any religious movement, because they can only mirror what is outside their own facades.

But they should also be open to investigation into immoral/law abiding hypocrosy...

Because any church, temple,Mosque is only as moral and honest,law-abiding has its congregations and it's spiritual leaders..truth or hypocrisy allows!!

One of the differences in this case, unless I’m widely off the mark, is the alleged intimidation by the perpetrators, towards a wider group than just the children themselves. The article above states that the parents of some of the kids, who dared to report this stuff, were then targeted, such that the fear became endemic amongst parts of the local community.

My image of ‘other paedophiles’ so to speak, is of a secretive, closed collective who groom kids mainly online, have secret passwords, web-sites and the such like.

The examples we are seeing across the North of England is of a group who are almost brazen in what they are doing, affecting families with quite open hostility.

Apologies if this is tripe but it’s how I perceive it.

Some of the examples in the Rotherham case were staggering, cars turning up at the school gates with bottles of vodka. The bizarre incident where a naked underage girl was found with a group of men and she was arrested by the police. The young girl working at the council who was forced to undertake a diversity course for making reference to race.

I still don't get how so many knew this was going on yet nothing was done about it.

The BBC, Catholic Church etc you can get it as they are hugely powerful organisations with influence - this was taxi and takeaway fitms.

The issue with these cases involving Muslim men is proportionally massively too high and it's swept under the carpet by their own people as fair game as it's against white girls and not their own. Eventually the extent of these atrocities will come out

This is really the point I was making.

It seems that the perpetrators in these cases were essentially putting two fingers up to the establishment (and society per se?) and saying fook you, we’re doing this, live with it.

That’s scary.
