So has Webbo gone?  Is it something to do with the politics thread which I never go on because my opinion is scorned with vitreous contempt by keyboard warriors because I have a right wing opinion and I'm a knuckle dragging bigot neo Nazi racist gammon......oh I give up.

Yes he appears to have gone Boosy ...   but it may only be that he knocked his keyboard into his paste bucket and will hopefully return soon when it dries out.

As far as I’m aware he’s not left he just didn’t want to be a mod anymore. Maybe he’s got a more interesting life away from here that’ll keep him busier than he used to be.

I must say that I didn't notice any impartiality in his work as a Mod. He seemed to let as much go as possible and to give the odd informal warning if things were getting overheated or debate was heading in a direction detrimental to the forum, which is the way things should be.

 

I disagreed with most things he said in the Politics Thread, but that's just personal opinions, and I'm sure he'd say the same about my opinions.

We're mostly just a bunch of strangers on a forum. No need for diverging opinions to cause resentment - and I never felt unfairly treated, despite constantly disagreeing with him.

 

Good luck to Webbo (whether he returns or not) and good luck to us, one and all!  :thumbup:

(Good mood induced by good win - I'd probably be carping like mad if we'd lost today!)

You may not have noticed it, Alf, but he treated his ‘friends’  - those who shared his political and world view - differently from those who didn’t, in terms of which posts were deleted and which weren’t. Certain people got away with posting things that others didn’t. 

 

Furthermore, much of what he posted was undisguised trolling, something he got away with because he was the mod charged with upholding the forum rules.

It’s not a requirement for a mod to be impartial with their views and opinions but to be fair with any moderating that is needed.
