This is why the people saying Claude Puel should get the sack are absolutely right.

He should be given the sack every Christmas. He does a much better job delivering presents than that old fraud with the white beard and the red suit.

Actually, Carl, that poses a philosophical question:

How can you have a map of somewhere that doesn’t exist?

It's like the old Descartes geezer said: I think therefore I map.

A Red Day tank driving experience :) and my daughter self harming :(

Sorry to hear about your daughter mate, that's sad :(

I didn't realise how common it was until my daughter told me there's a few in her new class at secondary school who self harm.

I hope you manage to sort it out between you and she stops soon. Good luck.

Looks great.

How does it taste? Can you adapt/flavour tofu, or does that happen more when you’re cooking with it?

Well, at this stage it's very bland. You can't really add flavours at the manufacturing stage because they would remain in the liquid when it separates from the curds.

However, once it's pressed, like in the picture I posted, it readily absorbs flavours. Ideally, it's best cut into cubes or strips (depending on how you intend to cook with it) then marinated for several hours (I usually do mine overnight). There are almost limitless marinades that can be made, so it's a case of experimenting to find what you like.

I could give you a few suggestions if you are interested.

Looks more plasterboard to me ...    :)

Ha, bloody, ha.

Wait until it's cooked, you'll be inviting yourself over then.

Did she marinade it first?

It improves it no end if you give it some time to absorb the flavours.

Well, tell her from me that whenever or whatever she cooks with Quorn it will improve it immeasurably if she marinades it (preferably overnight).

I gave the same advice to @cambridge_fox a while back and he was really pleased with the results.

I prefer quorn mince to meat to be honest.

I eat a fair bit of quorn, the meat balls are really nice and you can cook all of it from frozen.

I had some of the wife's Quorn nuggets today just to see what they were like.

Gotta say I was very impressed. With a bit of BBQ sauce you'd think they were really McDonalds chicken nuggets. Will defo have again.

So it's finished then

This is what it's like tossed in oil, salt and black pepper then lightly roasted. It's crispy on the outside, soft on the inside.

Tomorrow, for breakfast, I will stir fry some diced potatoes and chopped onion in olive oil; when it's halfway through I will add some dried thyme, oregano, salt and pepper, and also add the tofu pieces. Fifteen minutes, start to finish and I'll have a delicious relatively low calorie, high protein nutritious meal.
