Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 19 January 2019 Posted 19 January 2019 Forget the management situation and think about the team we put out today, since we won the league there have been numerous transfer windows, numerous players signed, masses of money spent and yet I would say only Harry and Ricardo look like good signings (the latter not in the role he was bought to perform) add Evans (tried and tested) Maddison and I would of said Ndidi before this season to that small list of successful signings, the rest have been either poor or not given an opportunity, it really is disappointing recruitment on a massive scale.
Tielemans63 Posted 19 January 2019 Posted 19 January 2019 I'm surprised no-one has commented on this before. To be fair I don't think it's been any better or worse than most clubs in all honesty.
Ric Flair Posted 19 January 2019 Posted 19 January 2019 Everything is so inconsistent and erratic. Ndidi might look better with a better calibre of box to box midfielder alongside him, he's certainly regressed at passing and making forward runs. Iheanacho, Ghezzal, Mendy, Slimani, Silva and a few others seemingly have little future here and that is a horrific waste of money. We have a big rebuild on our hands, I'm not sure some of the younger players we have are going to be good enough but its maybe a little unfair and too early to judge. Things can change very quickly.

lcfcsnow Posted 19 January 2019 Posted 19 January 2019 As bad as the contract extensions for King, James, Albrighton, just don’t know what the plan is. Wouldn’t put it past us if we extensions planned for Simpson and Morgan.

Finn Claw II Posted 19 January 2019 Posted 19 January 2019 Have we made a genuinely bad signing under Puel. Ghezzal was £10m but that doesn’t buy you much these days in terms of attacking players. we are also clearing out deadwood. the football is turgid but we do seem to have a plan in terms of transitioning the squad.
Lionheart10 Posted 19 January 2019 Posted 19 January 2019 Need someone in Midfield who drives forward with the ball and slots passes in for Vardy,he must be gutted with the lack of service he gets now!

To be fair I don't think it's been any better or worse than most clubs in all honesty. They have. This is a major reason why Puel gets so much support from some (including me). Our scouting and recruitment people have pi##ed away millions since summer 2016. Chuck in those given extended contracts handed out by some Fruit-cake and you have some contributory factors as to where we are on January 19, 2019. Having said this I am not sure about the Ghezzel purchase.
Mr Mister Posted 19 January 2019 Posted 19 January 2019 We need to buy intelligent footballers in order for Puel's tactics to work.
