Bazly Posted 21 January 2019 Posted 21 January 2019 We were quite an old team back in the day but of the regular 11 only four continue today with bolt on first team football; Vardy, Schmeichel, Morgan and Kante. Kante is the only player to move forward with additional domestic medals and of course part of the World Cup winning side. Vardy is still a top striker, when he gets the opportunity. Schmeichel and Morgan have both diminished. Rarely can a title winning team have fallen so quickly from form or favour. Thanks for the memories but seems it was the pinnacle as brief as it was unexpected. Maybe we just need to accept we can lose to any team, from Newport County up, is the Leicester way. We just seem to be spending way more money on players and wages today to achieve that. Maybe it's the Monday blues after suffering a 93 minute winner?
The whole world smiles Posted 21 January 2019 Posted 21 January 2019 Was hoping for a pleasant stroll down memory lane thread not more negativity.
RutlanderFox Posted 21 January 2019 Posted 21 January 2019 It was a relatively old side at the time anyway so players were going to pass their peak fairly soon after it happened
bovril Posted 21 January 2019 Posted 21 January 2019 I think the more time passes the more we realise that it was a miracle.
sylofox Posted 21 January 2019 Posted 21 January 2019 Seen the title and thought great something to cheer me up. But no the OP has been so miserable I'm sure we will end up with the usual in/out debate.

After watching those video's and thinking back its no wonder everyone wanted us to win. We win the title and give the world Bocelli then Kasabian in the park. Spuds would have given us Chas and dave Ffs. 30 minutes ago, TheUltimateWinner said:
Fox92 Posted 21 January 2019 Posted 21 January 2019 Trouble is it was such a one off. It's not as if we were building up to winning the league. Even Blackburn, when they won it in 94-95, finished 4th and 2nd in the seasons before.

Sir Shep Posted 21 January 2019 Posted 21 January 2019 Well shit! Anyway you forgot Benny, whilst not a first team player he was still here and has now joined the mighty Forest, they were 2 times champions of Europe did you know!
Soar Fox Posted 21 January 2019 Posted 21 January 2019 Looking back at the video of when we were crowned champions at Bolton is brilliant. It might sound strange but I probably enjoyed that season more than winning the premier league a couple of years later. It was plainly obvious we were going up from about January and we were going to games knowing we were going to win it was just a case of by how many. Winning the Premier League felt different. February onwards I wasn’t enjoying the games we would score and I’d constantly be looking at the clock seeing how long was left. During the week I’d be looking at fixtures of the teams around us seeing who they have got. Going to games thinking we’d lose as I didn’t think we could carry on winning nearly every week. It was a feeling that we’d never have an opportunity like this again.
WigstonWanderer Posted 21 January 2019 Posted 21 January 2019 If only that team could have stayed together one more season for the Champions League whilst also maintaining the togetherness and spirit that got them to that position in the first place. Money and egos got the better of them to some extent.

Surely that can't be the same Forest that lost at home to Bristol City on Saturday?
