So, Bernie Sanders had a heart attack:

He should pull out, for his own health's sake.

This isn't really news; they said he had chest pain and was found to have a blocked artery which needed stenting open. That's a heart attack.

Assuming he has no significant permanent heart damage on his echocardiogram he will be fine to continue.

I wish him well, I'm just not sure the upcoming extensive pre-election phase (12 months or so) will be doing him any good, it's a highly stressful period and he needs to take good care of himself.

Personal physicists can say whatever they want to the public, I find it's oftentimes false health news in order to lie about candidates' health issues and avoid further speculation, Hillary Clinton in 2016 springs to mind.

I've got nothing against Sanders personally, I think he does have a point in some areas, but I dread the thought of seeing a 78-year old take office. I'm not sure he'd last that long in order to properly implement his policies/vision.

He'll need a short period of rest and if I were his doctor I probably wouldn't advise a Presidential election campaign shortly after an MI, but from a physiological point of view there's really no contraindication. He will have got to the cath lab in good time and chances are his echo is normal, in that case there's really no significant danger, beyond that which he already had as a 78 year old, in continuing to run.

Amazing that the same people who argue that Trump is of sound mind despite showing clear signs of old age, even dementia, long before taking office are now feigning concern that the far more lively and coherent Sanders (who knew eating more than just burgers and steak and doing a bit of occasional exercise made you more healthy) is too unfit due to old age.  If you're good enough you're old enough, Trump is neither, Sanders is both.

Nobody's arguing that Trump is exempt from criticism due to old age - but surely you can see that there's a difference between a potential president taking office at nearly 80 years of age and somebody at least 10 years his junior.

Even if Sanders is as jovial as a 60-year old to the outside, deterioration can set in pretty quickly, and the quicker the older you are. Sanders has also made several blunders in public himself over the years.

Trump's main health issue is that he's obese and thus suffers from high cholesterol, and coronary artery disease (normal for a white male at his age). The reports trying to attribute dementia to him are currently only based on vague interpretations from media appearances, and can't be used to form a full conclusion.

But of course, should real dementia set in anytime soon, he'd be unfit for office. And Mike Pence would take over.

Fact is that they have been after this guy from the very start. The agenda is painfully obvious

Obvious to some, clearly, but not to others.

Do go ahead and clarify.

You serious don't think it's obvious some have been out to get Trump since he was elected?

There were thousands out on the streets protesting from day one shouting things like "not my President".

Oh, no, not what I meant. Of course there have been people out to get him from day one.

What I'm asking about is exactly what particular agenda the OP is suggesting that includes removing Trump as a part of it, as the inference was there in the post and I'd be interested in the specifics.

I was going to post this in the "absolute ***** of our time" thread. I'm sure diplomatic immunity wasn't created for situations like this. And shes not even a diplomat, she's just married to one. Being married to a diplomat doesn't mean you don't have to face up to your actions.

Well, considering the fact that in most major cities, drivers of foreign embassy cars are specialists in collecting tickets never to be paid at all, this is but the logical continuation of their way of thinking.

Too often, "diplomatic immunity" is but another term for ignorance and arrogance.

Apparently, it does sadly.

But then realpolitik has never been about preserving the lives of those it deems expendable, and this is just another example of realpolitik at play.

I heard that there's about 10-20 mill GBP in such tickets outstanding in London alone, I think?

And you're spot on with the second sentence.

Once again, I'm well aware of the efforts. I'm curious as to what some folks consider is the "agenda" that includes removing him.

It's political - and personal.

If that isn't obvious to you, then I don't know what is.
