Peterborough :^(. I really thought he'd be good enough for a Championship loan. Then again, maybe it's best to get am injury free season under his belt in League 1.

He had a hit and miss spell there with injury like you said; may as well send him back for a full year in an environment he knows. Also gives him time to develop and see how he fairs there.

They must rate him to want him back again

Yeah apparently in the limited games he got he was very good in three positions. Hopefully he doesn't get injured and can put in a lot of gametime into each position.

Then if he's playing well we can always recall and loan to a champ team? But main thing is game time

Surprised about Knight. I thought Rodgers would love having a young ball playing defender or defensive midfielder around although with our existing DMs and CBs he may have found little playing time admittedly.

He seemed good enough for a championship loan after impressing in league one albeit for about five matches towards the end of the season. Posh played him as a DM too rather than a CB - it will be interesting to see what position they play him this season.

Think this will be the reason, we have Soy, Evans, Benkovic and Morgan on top of the promising academy players.

Sending him out for game time and experience will help him develop way more than in the u23s with some potential cup minutes.

And we might be signing another! Morgan might not even make the bench once Benko is fit.

Winning start for the 3 loanees that played today:

Iversen played the 90 for Rotherham (2-1 win over Wimbledon)

Loft was a 2nd half sub for Carlisle (2-1 win over Crawley)

Sowah was a 2nd half sub for Leuven (1-0 win over Virton)

Ndukwu and Knight start on the bench. Southend conceded an own goal in the first nine minutes of the new season then conceded another three minutes later. Great to see them setting the bar low for Ndukwu.

Probs worthwhile getting shots and shots on target if you can. Don't think league one data is on who scored. BBC live text showed Layton had a shot on target and nearly an assist. I reckon Layton wants to suit the luxury player role. He really has the skill but needs to perform enough to win that right.
