This Leicester Team is Something Special - How Far Can Rodgers Take Them?

I love the True Geordie! Genuine football fan who often gives a good summary of our team through both the good and the bad. He made a special video when we won the league which was incredible, despite having to watch his own team get relegated the same season.

Here is another nice video he made with the other boys on the Kickoff YouTube channel.

There is a quote right at the end that I really like:

"With Leicester you wonder how much the owner might be thinking about trying to repeat the success of what his dad achieved? The owners of Man CIty? I have no idea who they are. The owners of Arsenal, Man U, I don't care. But there is something special about Leicester because of the owners and connection with the fans, it's a tragedy but it's also like a fairy tale. It's a family that owns the club that has created a family atmosphere. If they won something, an FA Cup or something like that, imagine what it would mean to both the fans and the owners..."

Probably some jealous pleb!

But I think it's actually good they have a range of opinions on things like this, even if we don't agree with them. And to be fair, the rest of them try to put him in his place and I think are very complimentary to us. Something that makes me excited is that the Geordie really thinks Ayoze is a good player and I'd trust him more than most to know what he's talking about!

Incredibly that guy is actually a Chelsea fan! The mixed race guy is actually the Arsenal fan and even he says Rodgers wouldn't go to them as it stands.

Anyway let people think what they want. I agree with the Geordie and with the video as a whole that there is something special about our club. I am not just saying this as a fan, but because it's true. You can feel it at the games, you feel it when you meet other fans, I dare say I feel it even when posting on these forums! I feel like this last 5 years (and more) we have all been through so many things together that it's united us all together. The owners, the fans, the city! You can go to any game and talk to anyone and it's extremely rare to find someone who isn't positive at the moment. This includes opposition fans, as many Palace supporters were very complimentary about us on the train home tonight.

The best thing is the way it's been done. We aren't a money club, but through a shared bond we are writing our own story. Players like Kasper, Vardy, Morgan, Albrighton as well as Pearson started it and now I think with this new breed of potential superstars we have learning from players like this, plus the superb coaching of Rodgers is a recipe for something incredible. Ndidi, Tielemans, Maddison, Soyuncu, Barnes, Hamza, Chilwell, these are all very likable guys and many of them seem to care. Youri Tielemans was bouncing like he was on a space hopper running over to the fans at the end of the game!

In case you can't tell, I am quite optimistic about Leicester City at the moment! :scarf:

That guy banging on about Rodgers saying he would just jump ship to Arsenal was owned lol Going to arsenal in the state they are in and with not much money to spend would be a disaster for him. He has it all here, the support, the funds a young vibrant team... he could truly do something special

First class pod cast and banter. That one idiot just doesn't get it. You go to a club for the CLUB. Not for the fvcking repetition and a pay check.

I know I'm not enlightening anyone here but Rodgers actually loves his job. He's into it and he's talented.

Lucky for him that he found his passion and the belief to make it happen so young in life. Experienced and smart enough to read a situation that will work for him or not.

What a dope that guy is but they needed someone to beat on a little. Couldn't have everyone singing our praises.

I cannot believe that! He was the only one who didn’t deserve to be there as he was an idiot with historic big club bias.

Love a bit of True Geordie and always enjoyed his stuff

Can't say the same about TheTrueFox mind....

Ayoze is a really good player and a lot of the supporters here are deluded to think that he's going to come here, after playing for a defensively minded club, and set the world on fire.

But, as usual, I just have to be patient. Brendan usually gets the best out of everyone. Southampton was just a taste. Demarai is coming along nicely.

He's gone full on talk about anything for clicks & views; about 3 different Youtube channels running with a podcast, a weekly thing where he just reads through what I imagine is The Sun and chats bob about it for 30 mins, like I want to hear his opinion on Chernobyl or Love Island.

Fair enough I'll probably still regrettably watch it because it relates to Leicester but substance is lacking with him these days, the shight he was talking about Xhaka being a disgrace and owing Arsenal fans anything earlier in the week, yuck. Any big topic him and his mate will chirp in

I had the (mis) pleasure of sitting next to this guy at one of the games. Prior to that day, I have never wanted to hurt one of my fellow Leicester supporters, but that day I must shamefully admit that I wanted to pick up his phone and clatter him around the head with said implement. You are there to watch a match! Watch it, don't pull your phone out and record yourself every 5 minutes for YouTube likes you absolute narcissist.

I quite like seeing fan cams after the game and getting genuine reactions from fans. In fact I'm a bit surprised we don't have something like it for Leicester (though watching AFTV would be embarrassing as an Arsenal fan). But Vlog'ing can do one if you ask me. Save it for after the match!

But at the end of the day I don't actually blame the kid. Social Media and phones have turned this generation into attention lovers because it rewards you for making content. Work hard at school, or take a selfie on Instagram and get +20K followers and money from advertisers... which is the smarter move? That's an entirely different conversation for another day, but yeah I find it embarrassing if I am being honest and think it can (and will) lead to problems later on life. If you program yourself to crave attention and likes... it can downhill very fast from there.

God I hate how his generation is near or maybe the same as mine.

I can't stand the vloggers at games or people recording their reaction to things.  Watch the fooking game lad not stare at a video of your face with different fake expressions. I laugh at his sidekick who I always see chasing after him, similar to Smithers chasing after Mr Burns.

Ah yes he does have a sidekick, I forgot about that. I feel more sorry for the sidekick though, that's classic behaviour of being shy and needing a stronger person to cling onto. Problem is that sidekick is having the absolute piss taken out of them without them realising. I hope this isn't intentional because otherwise that would be extremely sad as it doesn't sit well with me when people take advantage of others and exploit them.

Yeah I hope it isn't intentional as yeah then it is a bit shitty.

Tbh they all come under the "influencer" tag of people that are around that I cannot standddd. The Vardy lookalike guy is irritating too. Just the vlogging of his face during games is enough to wind me up. But this is going down a rant when we were initially focusing on how well we were playing :sweating:

There is no doubt in my mind that Top will not rest until we win it all again and add cups in as well in the memory of his father.  The connection between the family the city and the team is unrivalled in the Premier league. everyone involved owes a lot to each other, the fans, the city, the club the players.  It is a great and a little sad story.

Enjoy true Geordie.. good luck to the guy. However someone needs to have word. If he doesn't slow down on the Charlie his nose is going to fall off. Look at those enlarged sinuses, pinpoint pupils and dripping nose.  Thanks for you unbiased opinions True G.

Reputationally we are not yet a BIG team, but the longer Brendan does what he does here we will be.  He has the most supportive owner( who has the money and is prepared to use it) in the league, compare him to Kroenke at Arsenal, please!! Legacy for Brendan creating a top 4 Leicester who competes for titles is something dreams are made of.  He can be here for a Ferguson or Wenger period of time if he wants.  The owner will pay him whatever he deserves so leaving for money won't be the issue. I truly can't see him leaving anytime soon for any job.  in 3 to 5 years depending on what the landscape of the league and the teams are who knows, but in the short term I  would put good money on him staying and seeing this thing through.  he is a hero in Leicester and wanted and he has his team he has built.  Those who talk about the top 6 will need to contemplate a rethink.
