What's to feel bad about? Him losing his job is NOT equal to you or i losing ours. In the last year he has banked MILLIONS of pounds in being sacked alone. That isn't to mention the tens of thousands he has earned whilst being hopeless at his job.

This isn't a "hate the rich" type of deal. This is a "unlike the average person, him losing his job will not affect his ability to care for his family or pay the bills" kinda deal and at the end of the day, it won't be too long before he is back in a job, earning more than enough to live comfortably.

So, what's to feel bad about?

I think he's a bang average manager and he did a crap job up there.

I've got sympathy for him and the way he was hounded out pretty brutally, particularly at the end.

I'm not losing sleep over his sacking. No idea why people are so offended at the idea of having sympathy for the bloke.

Anyone who goes to one of the old firm clubs would understand how tough it can be off the field, there's no comparisson in england.  He would've known what he was walking into and not be surprised with the outcome after things went so badly.

On a human level of course it's difficult not to have a teeny bit of sympathy for the bloke but as above he will have known what he was getting himself in to

Not agreeing with you doesn't mean that I am offended.

It comes from the fact that I don't understand the sympathy. He knew what he was walking in to. He was financially rewarded for his own failures and in truth, it wasn't really that "brutal". Fan protests and sweary words directed towards him is part of his job. Particularly when you are so bad at it.

Maybe some felt sorry for the way he was dealt with after the game not being able to get on the team coach but presumably the security wasn’t very good  then ?

Protests where happening around the bus regardless of him being on it or not.

Abysmal, especially in a league that’s basically a two-horse race. Celtic and Rangers have absurd buying power next to the other ten clubs.

He would have got to the Wallace and Greig levels of mediocrity if they gave him the season.

Pedro was a basket case.

The one that shows how difficult it is to manage in Glasgow was Le Guen. At the time he was the hottest ticket around Europe, but player power got him out.

Just for context ...

That Jock Wallace (44%) entry is an example of why you should never go back to a club, after having had a successful time previously.

Jock Wallace was fantastic at Rangers from 1972 to 1978, and is still remembered as one of their greatest managers. (despite the not-so--good 2nd spell at the Club)

(he was also pretty good for us, too 1978-82 .............................)

I think some managers go to Scotland expecting an easy ride. As much as it is crap league, they are still very passionate fans and sometimes I think managers forget how massive Rangers are as a club. Rangers will no doubt was and will likely be biggest club he will ever manage and was probably never strong enough to handle it. If you struggled to handle the pressure Southampton how do you expect to handle it in front of 50,000 at ibrox every week.

Gerrard favourite for the job, but as good as was last time for them, I think he's showcased since where he's been he ain't that good. Overall he's probably no better than Martin. Dyche I think maybe a better candidate I do think he could certainly really get in the fans on his side quite quickly and do think he could easily handle the pressures of Rangers. Danny Rohl available is also, that surely must be tempting but again is Rohl ready to handle a club like Rangers. Rafa Bentiez available he could be tempted, he isn't exactly got a lot offers at the moment and he could easily turn Rangers fortunes round, plus when was last time Rangers hired a manager that actually won the champions league.

Could Rangers be stupid enough to hire RVN? lol

You do realise he's a human and not a TV character?

yes. But why should that make us feel sorry for him just because he’s human?

Is Gerards even able too? Is his tax situation over now?

Rohl would be a tempting pick but I think your right. It might be a bit too big of a job at this stage in hos career. I think Muscat would be a smart shout.

Unreal,  totally undeserved.

Mctominay has flounced around for the last 3 games, Ferguson looks 2 yards off the pace for international football and Christie does nothing defensively or attacking.

But somehow we get 3 points..........

@Super_horns

It's the gift that keeps on giving 😀

Social media all week has been about the return of Stevie G.

If he's turned it down after talks this week, there must be something behind the scenes he's not comfortable with.

As I understand it, if he comes back to the UK to work before the end of the tax year, he has to pay taxes on the £14m that he earned in Saudi over the last year. Hardly surprising he isn't willing to do that.
