not really helping the corruption allegations.

 

Also if you’re a ref and the VAR tells you it’s a penalty then you give a penalty because if it’s then wrong you can just blame them? I don’t get why you wouldn’t.

To be fair I'm with the ref there. That's nowhere near clear enough so he should stick with his original decision.  Also VAR shouldn't be telling him it's a penalty and there's contact when the camera is so far out you can't even definitively say he's touched him.

He wouldn't have made my starting 11 but it IS a massive blow. Do you know if people can still be called up to the squad? Lennon Miller surely has to be next in line.
