Guest bss9401 Posted 18 March 2020 Posted 18 March 2020 I took my kids to many away great awaydays that season. Carlisle, Hereford, Hartlepool, Huddersfield and Cheltenham to name just a few. It was painful being in League one but those games were such good schooling for an impressionable young fan. Lots of fun, lots of wins, lots of away goals amongst real fans. How on Earth did we go from that to being the Premier league Champions and the Champions League quarter finals within 8/9 years? Top picture Carlisle United; bottom FC Copenhagen

Top picture Carlisle United; bottom FC Copenhagen I'm still not sure. It felt awful when we were relegated but it was a brilliant season and really was, in hindsight the best thing to happen. I think we'd have just stuck around the middle/ bottom of the championship for the next years without it happening and Pearson coming in.
Spudulike Posted 19 March 2020 Posted 19 March 2020 We got through a lot of keepers that season so many that I've forgotten most.

Guest Electric Yetis Posted 19 March 2020 Posted 19 March 2020 Carl Pentney came on as sub, at home to Swindon I think.

Corky Posted 19 March 2020 Posted 19 March 2020 The most pivotal season in our history. Who knows where we'd be if we'd failed to win promotion? Had a lot of fun and enjoyment that year and the relief at going up was huge.
Bert Posted 19 March 2020 Posted 19 March 2020 Dyer, Hereford away. Unreal. Perhaps my favourite ever away.

Vindaloo FOX Posted 20 March 2020 Posted 20 March 2020 Going down to league 1 was the best thing that happened to us.

Didn't feel like it at the time and I hate we dropped out of the top two divisions for the only time in our history but with hindsight probably yes, we had a reset and Big Nige came did Big Nige things. Watford away in the play off semi finals (and Cardiff away but to a lesser extent) seemed like the end of the world too. 2013: Watford heartbreak 2014: Championship winners, 102 points 2015: PL great escape 2016: PL winners 2017: CL quarter finalists 2018: Tragedy 2019: Record top flight away win in English history 2020: To Be Continued
