Have to say I'm not overly impressed with this setup.

Just watching the interview with Brendan there after the game and the interviewer couldn't have asked any more generic none important questions. The narrative is so obviously being controlled.

Where's the questions about transfer activity or trying to connect some dots?

I know Stringer was the opposite end of the spectrum but this channel is just garbage in my opinion.

You're watching a channel made and produced by the club, why would they publicly scrutinise themselves?

Everything else you said is spot on though, comms/analysis wasn't insightful and frankly just dull. It's a decent service but needs a revamp and update

Some graphics for substitutions would be good, from what i understand even the commentators had to wait to see who they recognised to know what the changes were.

its an internal media source. The questions are probably written by Brendan and the club to provide answers that they think will provide confidence to the fans.

Its how the UK football media works, and if you looking for non scripted interviews, the club's own media channel wont be the way to get them. :(

It’s fine, it’s a free service that the club don’t have to provide. Just appreciate being able to watch the matches free of charge.

Was fortunate to work on their media coverage during 15/16 so everything was pretty glorious that season and I'll always be hugely grateful for that opportunity.

Fortunately they binned me off early the next season (poorly handled as it goes, broken promises, lack of honesty etc but life's too short etc etc) so that avoided a lot of difficult moments!

And thank god I wasn't having to be 'on message' with them during the Puel era.

Of course, every internal product is closely controlled. Some clubs are a bit more open but lcfc very much go for the safe (some might say bland) option.

And obviously post match everything is going to be 'positive spin' as much as possible. You're not going to get "Where are the bloody signings?" and "What happened to Rennie?" questions.

A lot of stuff is done by Zoom so the guys in London often do them

Point is that journos simply don’t give managers a hard time in interviews because

a) they wouldn’t risk their relationship with a big club boss

b) they don’t know enough about the other clubs to pose the questions that need asking

where is paxman when you need him !

obvs this excludes you geoff - you wouldn’t care if your cheese and black pudding jam sausage roll was removed from your half time privileges.....

Everyone at the club has a different take on the matter but you do you.

I play a drinking game when watching BR interviewed, I have to down a shot every time he says  “intensity”

Do you drink more now with BR than you did with Puel.

I don't think there's much difference between the two of them tactically just that BR can get his message across better and can relate to the players better.

They both suffer from the same fundamental problems on the pitch.

Yes both are boring when interviewed, I get the impression that the players also found Puel boring too but BR might be a little different, just generic answers when interviewed zzzzzz

I think most managers are they mostly speak in cliches and state the obvious without saying as it is. You rarely get the warts and all picture.

I guess they see it as 'protecting' the players.

But I was more into the tactics being the same more or less.

Yes lots of performances very similar, I would argue that I have enjoyed watching more games under BR than puel and I would say BR substitutions make more sense, puel made some baffling decisions

Sure because BR has been more successful at getting his message across and not alienating some players but their approach to the game is very similar.

Can't work out if this a swing at Rodgers or not ;)
