Ironic that Schalke one of the biggest clubs in Germany have been relegated tonight of all nights. This would never have happened in the ESL

The German reaction to the whole nonsense has reaffirmed why I love the place and its people. A fanbase like Schalke would never countenance the idea even in the situation they're in now.

Guaranteed Ruhrpott derby for VfL now next season but hopefully it's against BVB...

To be fair, the UK fanbase has shown life too these past few days. The biggest difference is that fans mean something to the clubs and the owners in Germany and have respect.

Over here, owners buy clubs and a lot of time just treat them like any other business like it's just a brand.

Having supported Bayern for 25 years or so and been an active member for over 8 years, as a fan/member even for a club of that size, it still feels connected. Every year they invite members to the AGM (obviously not during the pandemic) and members get a say in a lot of things. Fans even moaned when Bayern had a shirt that contained blue along with the red and not long after, the club changed back to a full red kit (ridiculous but shows fans matter even with small things like that).

And most clubs in Germany are the same in regard to listening to fans. You even see players and managers at times communicate with fans after games (generally when things aren't going well). It's a great culture and I would love to see a lot of it introduced into UK football.

Big time! Organisation is key and, while I accept the structure of German football allows members greater freedom to do that within the clubs they support officially, I hope English fans now come to realise the power of organised support in a more general sense too.

Huge win last night for Bochum. In touch distance of promotion for the first time in 11 years.

Bigger result is Hamburg slipping up against Sandhausen, even if you have them winning their game in hand that’s a 7 point gap on third with four games to go, got to do their bit now and see it out.

Indeed! Half an eye on Kiel with their games in hand.

Bit of a double header this Sunday, Leicester’s chase for top four but Bochum also looking for a result to confirm promotion. Playing Sandhausen who themselves still need to fight off a potential relegation play off. Draw would confirm it but given Kiel’s form a win is likely necessary to win the league.

Obviously want us to clinch top 4 but want so much for Bochum to get promoted. I've met so many fantastic guys over there and it'll be amazing for the city

Hopefully get to a few games next season, although a mate there says most of the good away days will remain in Bundesliga 2 😅
