Agreed, I read about it extensively and came to the same conclusion

She may not be the nicest person but I haven't personally seen a very strong argument against her exoneration. Some of the press she gets is very silly, she's hardly OJ Simpson

I always knew, deep down, you were anti-immigration.

Well, IMO those huntsmen are doing a sterling job in Aus and they should stay there. :D

Don't kill spiders. They're a vital part of our ecosystem. Sure they look scary and can run very fast but if you find one in your home get a glass and a piece of card/paper:

Be kind to our UK spiders, they do more to protect our homes from bothersome pests than you think.

I've got quite good with glass and card routine

Agreed. I tend to leave them alone if they've scurried off to a corner. It's only if it's absolutely Mahoosive and treating to scurry my way late at night that I get the glass out.

99% of the house, it's getting left alone. Bedroom, nope, it's out. Cardboard, squashed, whatever, it's got to go.

You either have a huge house or a tiny bedroom.

I'd rather have a few spiders lurking in dark corners than thousands of flies buzzing round my head.

Flies have been a real pain this summer. I can't seem to have my kitchen door open without 3 or 4 of them getting in.

I finally managed to get them all out last night but it took ages. I bought a cheap magnetic fly screen a few years back but that was cheap and rubbish in terms of fixing it to the door frame. Maybe need to look at them again.

We've got an electric zapper, the type you see in butchers shops. It gets a fair few flies but sadly, more moths than flies.

We've tried a Venus flytrap and a pitcher plant, neither of which attracted many flies and both died after a couple of years.

Ricky Gervais is so painfully unfunny and stupid and the fact he was so big in the early 2010s says a lot about the culture of that particular period.

The office was funny, but I never found his stand up funny. David Brent was essentially Ricky Gervais as himself and the fact that we're supposed to deride David Brent says it all.

would incense sticks work, i know you probably wouldnt want that aroma in the kitchen.

I would like to try this but its a NO NO for the wife and her health problems.

I would just set the hose pipe to mist and hang it in the garden by the kitchen door but thats probably a topic for the water meter debate.....

Was doing a fair bit of driving today and stopped off at a Costa. I went in with my environmentally friendly reusable cup and asked for a small Americano.

They proceeded to make it in a paper cup “to measure it”, tip it into my reusable cup, and throw away the disposable cup.

I had one lurking in my shorts this morning. I only discovered this after putting them on!

Any idea where I can buy solar eclipse glasses?

Yes Amazon if they have any left in stock and can deliver next day with Prime. Or alternatively any hardware store that sells level 13 or 14 rated welding glasses.

PSA - They MUST be at least 13 rated or higher or you could damage your eyes. This is info direct from NASA. The number should be etched on the glasses so check when you buy.

Cakes.

The ratios are all wrong in normal cakes.

Needs to be a huge increase in the usage of buttercream and a decrease in the amount of cake within each cake.

I’m not very keen on a sponge if the buttercream is too thick - too sweet for me.
