What’s really disappointing about this India team is that they don’t have a world class spinner. You think of Anil Kumble, Harbhajan Singh and Ravi Ashwin, match winners in their own right on any given day, that country should be able to produce the talent. It’s a dying art in the sport, unfortunately, but if any team should be keeping that fire lit, then it should be India.

Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav?

Jadeja is world class all rounder and his spin has done the trick many a time. On a level if you're including Ashwin in that list. Kumble and Harbhajan in a different class I'd say.

Yadav hasn't been given a fair shot but I think he'd have taken plenty of wickets so far if he was given a chance.

I’m a 90s kid so I agree, Kumble and Harbhajan were different class, and far better than Ashwin. As much as I love Jadeja as a cricketer, he’s not going to win you matches because of his bowling on a fairly regular basis.

I would’ve loved to have seen Kuldeep have a go here. If you’re not going to play him at Old Trafford, you won’t pick him anywhere. He’s someone that can hold up one end, and provide a completely different challenge. Bizarre.

Indian fans putting their England tops back on now?😂

Only after they’ve finished crying that Stokes told his bowlers to bowl Yorkers at Pant.

We don't produce turning tracks anymore. That's why we don't have a decent spinner & our over rates are so poor.

when I first saw India play (late 50's or early 60's), all they had was spinners. Bishan Bedi used to open the bowling & there would be 3 or 4 other spinners in the team.

Amazing how things change

Also frustrating that these two only seem to score runs against England. Their records elsewhere are bang average.

Rahul's record before this series was average at best vs England. He's upped his game in test form recently though.

It was far better than any other nation, had 3 hundreds against us.

Yeah that’s a huge part of it as well. It’s a shame, just lucky to have seen some of the best to have played the game do their thing.

Fair tactics!

Everyone would do the same. You’d be pissed off if your team didn’t do it to another teams player in the same situation.

Can India bat all day tomorrow to salvage what looks like an unlikely draw?

A lot could depend on rain but with how many surprises there's been this series, I wouldn't put it past us!

Gill and Rahul have done fantastic to get us to this position after the perilous 0 for 2 we found ourselves in.

Archer might have some fun with the new ball when it arrives here, lot of variable bounce.

And against lots of left handers too.

Feel like the next 25 minutes are critical. Nip two out and its game on, they see it through and its onto the oval.

I think that given the speed at which they're scoring, they will need to bat practically the whole day (or perhaps less five overs). That's still a lot of time to go.

Edit: They're more than halfway there in terms of total overs needed to face in the innings already, though.

Oh look, Stokes is fit to bowl again

Not denying he’s in pain but I do feel he’s been milking it a lot in this series for a bit of hero complex clout. Cynical I am
