As they got promoted via the play-off final, this would have boosted shirt sales by several thousands. This could be the reason?
Popular Post Koke Posted 24 March 2022 Popular Post Posted 24 March 2022 We are actually a big club. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. People seem to think this is the same Leicester City that MON carried in the 90s. We are a totally different animal now. One example, last I checked our manager was paid more than the league winning & CL winning Liverpool manager. Our revenue is 7th in the table, our training ground is up there with the best, stadium expansion on its way, we play regularly in Europe. We are a big club. 15 1
Koke Posted 24 March 2022 Posted 24 March 2022 I stand corrected. Klopp must have signed a new deal this season or something 1

The top 6 are effectively playing a different sport to us, when it comes their spending power. Look at Chelsea - they spent £100m on Lukaku and don't play him! Is it true that we play regularly in Europe? CL in 16/17 EL in 20/21 EL / ECL in 21/22 It's a long shot we'll be playing in Europe next season. EDIT: just to add to this, we know there's 6 clubs with significantly bigger resources and pulling power. Now add Newcastle to that. Villa and Everton have been outspending us for a good few years now. Obviously though us doing better than those 2 clubs goes to show how clever we are with our spending. West Ham and Wolves are doing better than us this season. I think we've definitely got a good claim to be among the 'best of the rest' right in that 7th to 11th slot, but there has to be recognition that there's simply too many sharks in the tank. To think that we've somehow 'arrived' as a 'big club' goes someway to ignoring the wider context of the league. Edited 24 March 2022 by Les-TA-Jon 11 1

Absolutely not given how awful we’ve been for the vast majority of the season. You still won’t be able to erase that Forest defeat though, and 8th and an ECL win still wouldn’t make up for the complete embarrassment that day was. I don’t think it’s achievable anyway, we don’t score enough goals from open play without Vardy Edited 24 March 2022 by The Year Of The Fox 1

I don’t think it’s achievable anyway, we don’t score enough goals from open play without Vardy We've had bad defeats to lower league minnows over the years. Millwall, Newport, Forest. It can happen. If we finish top half and win the UECL it'd be a success, despite how terrible we've been for 75% of the season. 8

It is a little short-sighted for fans to call it an abysmal season with over a quarter of a league season to go and a European QF to play. 4 minutes ago, The Year Of The Fox said: Absolutely not given how awful we’ve been for the vast majority of the season. If someone offered my losing 4-1 to forest and winning the ECL, I would take it every day of the week! I've never been one to be embarrassed about results. Imagine both sets of fans looking back at the last six years. City Fan "Remember that time we won the PL, FA Cup, and ECL cup. Forest fans "Remember the time we beat Leicester 4-1 and then got beat in the Qtr-final of the FA Cup." I know which camp I would rather be in! 15

With the likelihood that Vardy will be back for the PSV games. It's not going to be easy, but it is achievable.
