Why have teams only played 5/6 matches and why do Leicester only have 22 points and why does the world 🌎 spin around and why is the sky blue?

@lcfcfoz Would you please care to explain what have you you been trying to do here?

'cause no one seems to understand

When he started it, he used Villa as a baseline as they had 8 games left (the most) and were sat in 11th place. He then reduced their points total to zero, and reduced every other team's points by the same amount. Basically, "If an 8-game season started today, but some teams had a points head start and some had already played 1-2 games, what would the table look like?".

It's pointless because its the exact same thing as the actual table, just translated down on those two columns.

You could do the exact same thing now with us as the baseline instead (and apply the same logic to GD) and get:

Slightly useful to see what points/GD changes need to happen for us to be caught, but nothing the actual table wouldn't tell you anyway. Just a little clearer (once you know whats going on)

Just a quick question

if we end up finishing 4th with Liverpool finishing 3rd and Chelsea (who finish 5th) win the Champions League does that mean despite finishing in the top 4 we will be replaced by Chelsea in next year's Champions League because the maximum number of English teams allowed is 4 and the winner gets automatic qualification?

I’ve enjoyed this thread enormously. I haven’t understood a single word of it from day one, but it’s been fabulous fun. What I do know is win on Tuesday and I never have to wonder what the hell this was all about ever again.

The maximum is 5

Does this mean that if we finish 5th we still qualify cause the champions league will be won by either Man City of Chelsea who would already have qualified by virtue of finishing in the top four. I know i am fishing here and truth be told after winning the FA (Fvcking Awesome) Cup the Champions League seems that little less important!

This ought to change to "what would the league table look like if it started today"

  1. Arsenal
  2. Aston Villa
  3. Brighton and Hove Albion
  4. Burnley
  5. Chelsea
  6. Crystal Palace
  7. Everton
  8. Fulham

I think that gives us a lot to think about.

Rodgers out. Boooooo.
