We're one point behind the team we just beat 2-0, nearly all of our attacking options were out today thanks to injuries or covid, the atmosphere around the camp is 10x better than pre-Bedford too...we'll be alright (ignore Wednesday's game, we'd need a ridiculous win to go through and are basically gonna play as many back ups as poss).

Villa at home in a couple weeks is where it starts again for us, Brighton is probably a stretch too far.

Just realised that Libby Smith who was one of the players Morgan got rid of when he got rid of about half the squad scored the first goal for Birmingham yesterday

....hopefully down the road, they will have their own dedicated ground with a 15k capacity!!!

In this financial era and the uncertainty out there it will not be too high on our owners list of things to do. But keeping it in the city, and accessible would be a great thing.

...the Eon building site, no notification what it will be used for, it was a wish (the term "hopefully" in my post) for it to come about!!!

Down the line with the expansion of the leagues, it way well become an option to construct one.

I think they care about the Raw Dykes probably because neither Uni wants to build anything there.:P

I don't see it, it would be an expensive thing to build just for the women's and U23 teams don't see it being cost effective. Its not like there is a quality local non league side to rent it out to either

How much would it cost to build something similar to what they had at quorn on a slightly larger scale?

Clubhouse, standing terraces and seating down one side of the ground.

....they really need a home of their own!!!

...10k plus!!!

We need the capacity to compete with the Man. City and Uniteds and Chelseas of this world. If we succeed as we have so far in our endeavours, we will be right up there with the best. We do not seem  to do things by half at this club.

Not sure, they had to move from quorn as that wasn’t suitable, anything around 6-12k would be more than enough for a while I’d assume.

its not just capacity you also need the media capabilities, that's why they left Quorn, the current situation is better, both in terms of prestige and attracting players

We were never going to put out a first team lineup for this. All of our focus must be on staying up and the new manager fielded an appropriate team for this comp. Unfortunately for the girls in this matchup, this one will be painful (in the score line at least).

onward and upward!

One of the youngsters that made their debut tonight, Alanta Brown, is a product of Christian Fuchs’ Fox Soccer Academy

Ava Baker is a current England U16 international

Monique Robinson is arguably the highest regarded prospect/closest to stepping up full time atm, been involved in the first team squads a few times already

The WSL Academy side are in a WSL Plate Semi Final against Liverpool later this month, final is at Loughborough Uni

Probably more reasons why LB got the managerial job

Edit: Not to mention Mackenzie Smith whose already stepped up full time this season at 16

....we are going to have to be inventive if we are looking to take this team anywhere near the top!!!

Unless we are planning on spending a fortune to get there, we need to do this slightly different from the other teams. We are progressing players through the academy, we need to go away from the norm and look in places where you are not expecting to find players.

The big problems with teams is pace, we haven't got it and we need that advantage. We need athletes, ladies with speed, someone who has an interest in football but chose to do track and field instead. We need to coach athletes to play football, it is not as radical as it sounds, we need to be pushing boundaries.
