Agreed. Need to keep progressing but right direction definitely.

You know is great having another team to support with absolutely no need for any guilty feelings. 😀

Great response to Birmingham beating Arsenal in the previous round of fixtures.

The way things were going, they could've been forgiven for thinking that beating Birmingham was all they needed to do, so seeing Birmingham beat Arsenal could've been a real sickener. So to come back and beat Brighton is a great result. Hopefully they can kick on and a get a few more wins to put some daylight between them and the bottom.

Is it too simplistic to put the improvement  down to having a different coach ??

New voice, different ideas, giving them a instant boost and then a win which breeds confidence.

Two win and they probably just starting to feel like they belong at this level.

Big two games coming up Villa at home and Birmingham away, getting something against Villa would take the pressure off a little for the Birmingham game.

So we aren’t saying that the previous coach wasn’t up to this level ???

Hard to judge, he's only had 9 games at this level.

Bedford has only had 5 games at this level, it very early days.

But she has managed to find a way to win games something Morgan couldn't.

I think the step up from the Championship is massive in terms of quality and fitness , maybe it take them a while to get to the level they need to be at.

3 players in the team of the week.

...agree with Purfield and Howard did well against a team without much going forward but Sigsworth really strange to be included in that list!!!

Put clear through in the first half, she was so slow having received the ball, the defender managed to effect the block having got infront of her after giving her a 5 yard start. She was also put clean through in the second half and was too slow and once again closed down before she could get a shot off.

Her best moment was taking on the defender and cutting back inside and the lay off for the goal. As a supplier she maybe a more effective player, infront of goal, she chokes.

....I think getting Plumptre and Tierney on the ball more has been a good call, Plumptre not too steady defensively but so much better with the ball at her feet and looking to play forward!!!

Seeing the same issues from day one in this team but they seem to be able to stay in games for longer now. Lamborne and the playing out from the back is a big concern, the ball eventually ends up out of play because she has been closed down and panicked. Get the ball forward straight away, or at least have a strategy to play the ball on to the players better feet so as they do not have to control the ball and switch feet and manoeuvre their body in an attempt to clear the ball upfield.

If you notice the 50/50 tackles are made from the side by the LCFC team, that just means you are not committed, that is how you get hurt by dangling your legs where boots are flying. We are easily bullied and slow all round Gregory has brought a great attitude to the way we play, good to see that someone believes that they can compete against other teams.

I think that is the nail on the head the jump is probably more like a mens Lge 2 to Prem its that big.
We also only turned fully professional when we came up so that in itself would be a huge jump for Morgan & his backroom non-playing workload would have went up 100% let alone the playing side. I felt sorry for him as it was his baby seen it through to promotion but in the end i think it got the better of him, it would have been nice for him to take another role, he might  have been offered & turned it down after being the boss we don't know but shame he not involved at all.

I certainly think, without getting carried away, that Lydia & her 2i/c Brent Hills are better prepared for the fight, they come from the FA & Brent is extremely experienced in the Womans game & with both their previous roles they will have access to the some of the best up & coming players which hopefully they can tap into.

Yes he has a lot of knowledge.

I think Morgan maybe needed some help, which is probably why the club brought in Heskey but I'm not sure that was what was need.

We still seam to be a bit behind the curve fitness wise, but better then earlier in the season.

I think we are heading in the right direction fingers crossed. Certainly hope it continues. 👍🏻

Hard to argue against the managerial change at the moment, the team may have started to look more organised before the change but it wasnt getting results and now it is, fingers crossed we can make it.

...a win would have dragged Villa into the race to the bottom!!!

Villa will  be safe now, big game coming up against  Birmingham who seems to be scoring but still have a leaking defence. We do not tend to create many chances, we have a poor supply from out wide and perhaps should be looking to push Sigsworth out on the right and Gregory on the left with Tash Flint linking the play up front. She needs support though, and it appears that it is not forthcoming for our strikers.
