After an extended bad patch with my Premier League squad, I've switched my team up.

What division are you in? Do you do anything with tactics?
 

Friendly games are completely random with matchmaking so you could be playing someone in a top division.

 

I’d stick at rivals though, you’ll play people at a similar level. Everyone starts in division 10 so you might again be unlucky at match someone good that’s just got the game.

I think friendlies are skill based and I don’t think that properly kicks in till you’ve played about 5 division rivals games (I might be wrong on the latter) try and grind out a few games once you feel comfortable with your team but until then I recommend playing squad battles to improve your team along with the understanding of the game, start on whatever difficulty you feel you can and slowly work your way up! You’ll find the way the ai plays is similar to the way people play online as you get up the difficulties which should see you improving gradually

I don’t think that’s true I’m sure friendlies is skill based so he will be likely playing people around his skill level (not sure if you have to play a certain amount of games for that skill level to kick in though)

I thought the same and it was last Fifa. I’ve seen that’s it changed for this one and going from how quick I did the Antonio objective last night, I believe it

It’s one of those mate has it’s good and bad points… the game play is pretty good so far bar the auto drop back on next gen and the nerfing of long shots to be said drop back! But I’d say it’s more of a true football game than last year! Not so many broken mechanics to exploit and skills seem pretty pointless so you get rewarded for playing football for a change! Player prices are absolutely in the mid so even if you just started you could build a top team very quickly without spending any money… the only flip side of the latter is the top top elite players are ridiculously expensive which is where the usual pay to win steps in as those elite level players are absolutely broken imo

Yeah that was annoying, hopefully it’s not the same for icon swaps. Once you’ve got the 4 wins it’s not a problem as long as you score with a finesse.
 

I got lucky with the headers, who I was playing just kept moving his players and goalie to let me score

I only played a few games in rivals so I div 10 still might give it a few more see how I get on.  Don’t really do any tactics either which probably doesn’t help  just play and hope for the best 😂

One tactic I’d definitely suggest is to make your full backs stay back when attacking.

Cheers mate, I played the trial for a couple of hours on PS5 and felt it was ok. Also got caught playing it by the wife and was given a rocket then! 
 

If I did get and did FUT, it would be totally casual and I might just do a fun team like all Italian or all City past and present and not get invested too much.  Seeing you guys chatting about challenges and grinding just gives me flashbacks! 
 

Probably watching Italian Stallion on YouTube plus it being on sale isn’t helping me!

Wasted my 4.6k on packs and got absolutely nothing lol, drafts would've been better tbh but couldn't be bothered. Don't waste points on offline draft though.

Oh I defo won’t be wasting on online even though the few I played against the computer only managed 3 wins but will prob use them for that.

Qualified for and played my first FUT Champs today. Staggering the low number of games that went to FT. Loads of gifted wins and quits after the first goal (mainly me on that one!). Made it to the rank that gives you the points to play again (44 points is it?!). Very different from last years experience and not all in a bad way.

 

Absolutely nothing from the rewards that would make my team. And that’s more a reflection of my rubbish pack luck this year than the quality of my squad!

Still no real idea what I’m doing on the wider game but think I’m somehow doing pretty well. I’m the FUT championships whatever that means, won 2/3 with the lose on extra time.

Up to div 9 in rivals woooo 😂 just played 2 of the worst games of Fifa you will ever see surprised there was any goals as all we seek to do was pass it to each back to each other once of us had the ball 😂

Tried again for weekend league qualification last night. Needed to win the final game and went 2-0 up in the 78th minute. My defence then stopped playing and I lost 3-2 gutted.

the constant pressure effect!!! really is ridiculous that your opponent going on constant pressure has such an effect on your players!

my pack luck continued with squad battles... pushed on to elite 1 and bagged the most ridiculous 50k pack that had rule breaker Dembele in!!!! cheeky 900k in the bank after using him for 10 games and not really getting on with him mainly due to the fact i had to mess about with my team to get him in only to struggle to find a position that suited him... oh and the 73 stamina which seen him having to be whipped after about 60 mins every game!

 

WL update: went 8-0 and planned on giving away the remaining 12 games but decided to push on to 12 for the extra red pick... some of the players i came up against were mad including a pretty big streamer ended up going 4-4 in my next 8 before gifting the reamaing 4 and opening my dead rewards! conclusion is there's no point what so ever in putting yourself through the stress of anything past 8 wins which is where ill settle for the remainder of the game

I just don’t know how to counter it. TBF recently realising using sprint sparingly, driven passing and using constant pressure for five minutes after falling behind has got me from division 6 to 3 in a week. But there just seems to be nothing you can do to stop constant pressure.
