Word of warning for career mode:  For some inexplicable reason the game wipes half your development squad between seasons so make sure to promote any players you've been keeping in reserve.

Is it just me or have they sped the game up in the recent update? 

Feel like my players aren't oil tankers anymore and I'm starting to actually feel like I'm playing better

 

I swear to god though,  outside the box finesse shots are well overpowered. Someone just kept putting them top bins with Coman last night from 25-30 yards

Learn how to green shots if you don't know how to it's so over powered it's unbelievable.

Finally caved in and decided to give FUT a proper go. Moved up a few divisions on rivals, beating some teams that are loads better with a pretty average squad, now I’m just playing half decent players with much much better teams than mine. Do I have to just keep grinding to get a better squad or am I missing something here? 
Find it a bit frustrating because I can batter someone all game but not score, then they get once chance and spank it in from 30 yards.

Grind away, you can generally pick up a decent squad for a lowish amount. I just improve one position when I can

I'm resigned to losing if I come up against a team with Kimpembe/Upemacano in. I can dominate the game but they just block, out power and out pace my players. Then I'll get hit on the break and concede

Then I'll go all out attack and concede a few more haha

got a few games to go, maybe get rank 2 but can't be asked. I'm really enjoying fifa this year, players like benzema and thiago are actually usable and op when used properly

I don't really know what to spend it on either, I just know as soon as I buy some players their value will drop like a rock

I recommend Benzema POTM SBC, if you like his gold card, his POTM is another level.

 

If you have some untradeable fodder you can do him cheap.

The preview gold pack today had Europa Diop and a crappy TOTW. Needless to say, I spent the 7500 coins on it.

Time for a dev to step up and provide a top of the range football game that focuses on excellent gameplay and mechanics, that everyone can enjoy regardless of financial status.

Shame that EA still own all the relationships with the leagues and UEFA, plus the FIFPro. Just means the World Cup won’t be there for now.

There’s around 60 different licenses I think, but the fact they’ll lose their brand is a big deal.

 

We’ve seen that individual teams and leagues are prepared to not deal with EA. Let’s hope this signals a much-needed shift away from them.

 

Their stranglehold on football games has meant they’ve gotten away with releasing lazy, re-skinned garbage for years because there’s no real, authentic alternative on the market.
