Gameplay wise. Best fifa in years, love how most players are now usable and we don't have this meta nonsense as much. 

 

But like you mentioned play offs for weekend league is bull, and rewards are so shocking its almost not worth playing rivals either. I'm fairly certain that with each passing season they will change the rewards to give more packs out and also adjust points required to qualify for the weekend league, but if they don't... the game will be dead by xmas

Although I’ve qualified first time every week I can see why a lot of people would hate the new formats! I’ve said a lot on social media when people talk about it being better than the old dkt it’s just not! You could lose the dkt then re try straight away multiple times if you wanted to you weren’t really punished but this new set up imo will see Fifa die a lot quicker than usual!

 

the rewards for everything other than champs just ain’t worth the hassle meaning if players can’t qualify like you say they will quickly lose interest in the game!

for me the 1500 points should give you maybe 3 attempts to qualify not just 1!

 

then div rivals non relegation format is just wrong! The amount of times I read on here about you guys getting promoted only to lose every game before being relegated again shows the only offering promotions again will turn players away from the game at certain points as nobody wants to play a game where they feel everyone is a level ahead of them yet have no way of getting back to a level playing field!

 

Finally a little tip for you boys struggling to qualify… leave your games as late as possible! The better players will be jumping straight into the qualifiers so the longer you leave it like Thursday or even Friday you’ll find the level of opponents drop quite a lot! I’ve done most my quals on a Thursday night and qualified quite comfortably but last week I did them Friday night and it felt even easier (still more of a grind than champs like)

I like the play-off, give something to do midweek when I'm bored, found it pretty easy to qualify each time.

 

I found FUT champs pretty easy. I've managed between 12-16 wins most weeks. The one dislike I have about both is people scoring an own goal and losing to get the instant rewards. I don't want to be gifted wins.

 

I'm in Div 2 for rivals. No relegation means I can play with a Silver team for fun and still get the seven wins a week to get rivals rewards pretty comfortable, also remember at the end of the season you get milestones rewards depending on how my rival games you have played.

 

 I love pitting my silver Germany CBs up against the likes of Ronaldo and Mbappe. I scored some awesome goals with Watford's Dennis and beat some mega gold teams. I've also had my fair share of good beatings. 

 

I would suggest some of the other game modes to help beef up your rewards. Silver Beasts, for example, give you a free Rare Mega and playing things like Silver Stars makes getting XP for the season objective easy, which has lots of free packs. 

 

Completing Knockout King and European Euphoria for example gave you a free Megapack and Rare player pack, all untradeable. Still, you can cycle the players through things like marquee matches to get tradable packs.

 

There are lots of ways to make more coins and get free packs without trading.

Can’t get on board with being against people gifting free wins… surely it’s made FIFA the most non toxic environment we’ve possibly ever had!

@dbtcityI probably should explain that better. I don't mind when people are grinding objectives, doing first goal wins etc. 

 

What I meant was, I like the personal challenge of FUT Champs. I like the challenge of getting to the next level. 

 

Like last year I was solid Gold 1, but getting to Elite 3 felt like a challenge, so I found that personally rewarding. 

 

I don't want to be gifted wins in FUT Champs. It takes away some of the challenges, which is what I enjoy.  

 

Like everyone, once I hit the point, I don't have enough games to hit the next level, I gift wins away.

To me it seems like they’ve made the elite division of rivals the place for the Uber competitive players this year which is a good thing… that should potentially be what you should be striving for using your main team over a silver 1 as that’s where you’ll find the level of competition you’re seemingly after, looks like you also get rewarded for doing so as well this year which is good as the rewards look very good

 

maybe use said silver team for champs and treat that as the fun mode as for me I don’t see that much of a change in rewards from 8 wins +… if you’re beating god squads in div 2 with a silver team along with hitting 16 odd wins in the WL Id safely say you’re not a div 2 player and should really be trying for that elite div

The gifting of wins, for me personally, is the best aspect of playoffs/WL, as it literally lifts the mood straight away and removes some of the toxicity of Fifa.

 

I haven't struggled to get into WL, but the playoffs is definitely the hardest set of matches you'll have, and like others have said, the longer you leave your matches the easier you'll find it.

 

The gameplay for me is the best it has been in years, but I just wish they had more grindable objectives as once you hit the milestone ones, that's it. Also, the season objective players were shocking choices.

I agree, the game play is pretty good, especially as you can play with non meta players and do ok, and us different styles of play and still be successful.

 

Like you I love grind objectives, and would like to see more, the players are dreadful and simply SBC fodda.

I enjoy the gameplay my biggest gripe is no relegation in rivals. After hitting div 3 thats my ceiling. Im not improving losing by 3+ goals every match with 35% possesion and 5 shots at goal. I cant even be arsed to try and grind the 3 wins let alone 7 for the rewards. Whereas if i was relegated id be playing more at my level with close games that could go either way and much more enjoyable.

This exactly.

 

I've been a lower division player always and now I'm stuck with more difficult matches and no rewards for them.

 

I'm mostly now just playing squad battles.

The no relegation thing in rivals is ridiculous, but I have got a tiny bit of sympathy with EA on that one as for the past couple of years the amount of people moaning about the players that relegate themselves was crazy.

 

As usual, it's the casual player that gets punished for the actions of a few.

 

I wonder if you have to start over when the new season starts?

I’m sure I read that you got set back at the begging on a new season just unsure if that’s back to the beginning of your division or back a couple of division’s… guess we’ll have to wait and see, I’ll be amazed if they pull everyone back to div 10 again though

I have not played FIFA for a few years but was thinking of getting it on my laptop. I do not have a console anymore and do not want to buy a new one. I wanted to ask if it is the same playing it on a laptop?

Do I buy some kind of controller like the xbox ones?

Is UT the same or better/worse?

Bought it now and it’s downloading so I will soon find out. However, I need to buy a controller and am struggling to find the simple answer on the Internet of which is a cheap but effective one that works with a Windows laptop for FIFA.

Just grab an Xbox One controller... the newer variants can pair via Bluetooth.

 

As for UT on PC, I'd say the marketplace may be smaller so you may find players more expensive but genuinely I haven't looked.

It isn't the best optimised game, if it's jittery running at auto-detect settings then yeah I'd try your luck at lowering various options.

Games completely different this year takes getting used to. Played futchamps once found it ok but just can't be asked with it, never get anything good

I played 1 rival game and got hammered then been playing silver friendly games and I just can’t hack it 😂 back to squad battles for me I think
