With us doing the majority of our business early and a lack of rumours from credible ITKs about further incomings, we could be as we are for the start of the season.

I am curious how people think we might line-up, as I am struggling to put a formation/selection together where we get all our best players on the pitch with balance

I don't see Praet playing over Soumare in the first one, think BR want us to have more of a physical look to our midfield.

If we don't sign another CB, surely he won't play 3 CB's regularly. My understanding was, he did that to help us cope with injuries and also give us width with wingbacks. Hope we don't see it again :fc:

Seems wrong to have a starting 11 without Barnes in though but can't see how we get him without a RW on the other side to give balance.

Would love it if Daka on the right of a front 3 could work. Having him in the starting 11 would be a huge bonus IMO

Harsh to leave out Iheanacho.

 

I think we'll see a fair bit of rotation this season and tactical changes.

 

Great problem to have.

 

We're becoming a force, players need to be kept happy.

 

What a problem to have though.

His major concern is that we need an experienced CB like Evans to organise the defence and that any CB we sign must be heavily weighted in terms of experience e.g - Gary Cahill 

I read your 2nd post about assuming Evans will be injured after I replied btw. 

Interesting to see many going for Soumare > Praet    I haven't seen enough of him to say if he will go straight into the starting 11 but he will add more physical presence

We do need Evans to marshal our 2 younger centre backs. His lack of pace is made up by his reading of the game.

 

If we don't sign another CB, I can see Wilf being dropped into the back line and Soumare playing the holding role in midfield.

 

Would be a shame to lose Praet. He is a quality player, but obviously demands more playing time.

The whole Soumare thing was down to Rodgers clear dislike of Praet. I don’t agree with it as I rate Praet and don’t think he has been given anything like a fair chance in his best position by Rodgers.

That's why I put him in. I think he is a very classy midfielder and can really make things happen. He just needs a run of games and a clear defined role in midfield.

Agree about Evans. That experience is really beneficial.

 

As for Wilf, not a fan of him in the CB position. We lose a hell of a lot from the midfield area with him dropping deeper. Soumare may fill that void but I'd still rather Ndidi in the position he plays best.

I'd go as far to say, that I'd prefer (a fit) Benkovic at CB, than moving N'didi there. He never looks comfortable and we also lose our best DCM by making that switch

I reckon the idea is to have these options for shape and personnel to pick what suits best for each specific game, which could be argued as a reason we failed to get top 4 past few years by having square pegs in round holes because we had no ability to switch it all up.

My worry is some of you will use & abuse this, und get so frustrated when Rodgers, is his own man & starts & Sticks to a certain selection /formation over the first games.

Then he trys something else, he becomes the incompetent tinkerman...

what team would you go for fuchs, if everyone is fit?

I just don’t think 3 cb and wing backs work. 4-3-3 is imo is best for us. 
so I’d go with, obviously with everyone fit

tbh I’m torn between Justin and Bertrand. Just think you need a natural left footed full back. For me Praet is a solid and influential midfielder. I’d be disappointed if he left. I know we’ve signed Daka and Soumare but that’s what I think is the best formation for us. I just think 3 cbs and wing backs is too negative especially at home.

I wont yet go down that path...

I want to see First the  individuals Tied to the Leicester squad for this season.

Then Happy to Let Rodgers carry on the Good job, and earn his pennies by being the manager who gets formation/selection right...

I have to yet to know & see the new players...& Potential Front 6...
