I tell you what’s so off putting. It’s the solitary camera. So much sweeping!

Hmm watch city lose to a team from Manchester on Saturday, watch city lose to a team from Manchester on Sunday. Joy!

 

City being totally outclassed by Man Ure who seem to be several levels above our ladies.

....Bailey-Gayle just taken off, I was about to say that she and Paul need to come off as they are offering nothing out wide!!!

United look well organised and are solid in everything they do but we are playing like 13 year old school girls. Once again we are so weak in challenges and any 50/50 becomes 70/30 in United's favor.

  Flint and Plumptre are the only one's it seem 

s with any understanding of what needs to be done and how to do it.

Working hard without the ball, not vey good with the ball is being extremely kind.  We look a million miles off the level of Man Utd.  Maybe the manager should have kept more of the many Championship winning team that he binned from last season, who actually beat Man Utd away in the Cup at the end of last season.

Going to be a long, frustrating season for Jonathan Morgan and the girls because a majority of the squad just aren’t at the level. Technically & physically they look miles off it, half the squad are just running around like headless chickens and just launching the ball into no mans land. 
Levell, Brougham, Plumptre, McManus, O’Brien, Flint & maybe Sigsworth are the only ones who seem ready for this level.

I’ve tried a few time to watch the woman’s game and even contemplated taking my daughter but the standard is so poor and playing on a pitch like that too!!

 

I’ll still take my young daughter to watch them in the season but it won’t be for my entertainment 😂😂

The standard right at the top of the WSL is actually pretty good. Unfortunately right now there's only enough good players for the top 3 or 4 clubs to be truly competitive (Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd). Everyone else is just making up the numbers at the moment. It will improve over time as more girls/women take up the game professionally.

.....frustrating but we know it is going to be a long season!!!

Devlin needs to come on and play from the left hand side, she does have a tendency to try and score at the near post when the lay off is a better option. Paul and Bailey-Gayle will have to take a seat as they are passengers in both games I have seen. There does not seem to be any redeeming aspect of the game where Paul excels and Bailey-Gayle does not have the awareness of when to support and engage in the press.

 Liked Sigsworth aggression coupled with Flint upfront could be a good combination as both are unafraid to put themselves about.

   United are a very good team, enjoyed watching them play and you can see that they have pulled players from Europe to make them who they are. Poor finishing by them game us a better score line.

Been watching on mute, the standard is absolutely crap but when we went 2-1 on front it cheered me up. Could not work out why we were playing in all blue then found out i had been watching Forest Vs Cardiff

The standard isn’t poor, the girls are having to get used to a higher standard of football. And it’s a bit like when we came up back into the premier league. The female game is different within its own right, yes it’s ultimately football, but it’s a slightly different game, and it’s something the girls will need to get used to. 
 

Avoiding relegation for them would be a real feat, hopefully they will get that purple patch and pick up some points. 
 

But these girls can play, they really can.

Yeah, we are going to struggle. We lacked any kind of finesse with the ball, didn't really seem to have a game plan. We played a high defensive line but the lack of pace in the back four was pretty grim, they ran rings around us and beat us for pace time and time again. Felt we desperately lacked pace all over the pitch to be honest which caused us nightmares in ball retention and winning second balls (I can't really remember us winning any second balls). Highlight of the game was a good move at the start of the second half with a few one touch passes and a drive forward with a shot on goal, other than that there was an obvious gulf in class.

 

Having said that, I think we can pick up some points against the Readings and Evertons of the league.

 

On the plus side, the attendance was cracking and nice to see.
