Burnley Match Thread

Recommended Posts

The lack of goals we have scored this season is indeed completely criminal.

I'm glad I don't live close enough that I'm tempted to watch that dross week in week out.

You don't know what you're missing, I can't wait for the two home games coming up now...

Levein:

'we created a lot of chances but didn't score'

'we had some good chances'

'we played better in the second half'

'I'm definitely looking to bring someone else in - apart from de Vries no-one else is scoring. I can't decide whether that will be a loan signing or a perminant one. It might be before Tuesday but it's more likely we'll have to wait until January... the player's I'm watching look more likely to move in January than now'

'I feel disappointed for our supporters'

'We worked our socks off again though'

'Hume was too tired to play'

'We're not far away...Burnley aren't any better than us'

'I'm really disappointed, we need confidence, we need to win matches, we're good all over the pitch except for up front'

Two 1-0s say they are Craig. Out thought by Cotterill.

Why do we constantly play with such fear and negative tactics. About time took his head out of his ar se and smelt the coffee. Look at the top sides in the division Craig... what do you notice? They score almost every game and most games, score more than once.

And if we are going to be sh it and lose one nil every week, do the decent thing and bring back Trev. The man was a cult hero and you have robbed us of our hero.

Good to see he wants to bring in a striker. Better sooner than later!

How about this for a line-up against Watford?

------------------------Hume-----------------------

Wouldn't mind that. But Levein won't ever change from 4-4-2, unless it's to 4-5-1.

Same as I feel.

I Dont care about Leicester as much as I did anymore.

I dont have the same incentive to go games aswell.

Do I want to fork out money for Leeds away?

Errr on this performance , No.

Too right Muz.

I feel the same way now - we are boring to watch, hardly ever score and hardly ever win. And they expect us to fork out good money for that?

While this scottish c**t is in charge we will be staying right where we belong, the bottom of the Championship.:banghead:

You might say i'm too hasty, but i just have an opinion and this is it.

Sorry but I can't stand him. :@

Oh! s**t i've got free complimentary tickets for next sat!

I'll take 'em if you don't want them! :P

Dunno who we're gonna get....

....bet it will be somebody like Kenny Deuchar from Gretna Green !! He seems to score every week cos his name comes on the Soccer Saturday Channel all of the time.

C'mon Levein, let's pick a really attacking line up......

Douglas

Gerrbrand McCarthy Johansson

Sylla Gudjonsson Hughes Sheehan

Hume

De Vries Smith

Think previous thread said this, but yep, gets my vote !!!

'I'm really disappointed, we need confidence, we need to win matches, we're good all over the pitch except for up front'

Reality:

"We created a lot of chances".......Only in the second half when we could already have been 3-0 down and the game over the done with.

"We played better second half"............ Yes, as usual, cos the players performed like part-timers who refuse to play the 90 minutes they're paid for (whatever the reason is for that).

"We worked our socks off...." I've said before, headless chickens don't win football matches. Skill, cunning, cohesive football, good passing, good shooting, good covering, good teamwork wins football matches.

"We're not far away from Burnley" ......You're six points to nil away from Burnley or two goals to nil or 400 minutes from a goal. How much more evidence do you want about how far you are away from anything.

"We're good all over the pitch except up front" .......You're NOT good all over the pitch and never have been while you've been at Leicester. You've no team cohesion, no consistency, there are weaknesses at left back, creative midfield, right wing, left wing, centre-forward, even defensive midfield where the passing is concerned to name but a few of the problems. And you refuse to recognise it.

"We need confidence"...You Craig are responsible for that. You are the team's inspiration or otherwise. You are the one to make the tactics bring the best out of the individuals and the one charged with getting everyone in the right frame of mind (with various approaches depending on the characters involved)

Levein is clearly NOT a great orator, he's dented players confidence with daft changes, with playing people out of position, with dropping them when they've played well, by tinkering too much with the tactics, by worrying too much about the opposition and by umpteen other things.

I suggested getting a motivator and some specialist coaches months ago. But no. Consequence? All the same shortcomings are painfully apparent.

I've only been on this forum some four months but I've already learned that City fans are pretty good at judging what they see (and pretty fair too) and all the manager's drivel won't wash for an instant.

This is NOT all about a defeat or a bad game up front. It about whether fans feel we've got a team in the making and are showing some signs of moving in the right direction with a bit of style.

If we'd lost a cracking game 4-3 there'd have been disappointment but most of us would have balanced the good points against the bad and got on with looking forward to the next match.

But a tame, uninspiring, part-time 1-0 defeat that could have been three against a perfectly ordinary side. Well, there's nothing good to say, Craig. Nothing good at all. And it was just the same last time against Burnley, and against Preston and against QPR and against Wolves and against ...

You won't kid me Craig. And you won't kid the City fans. Something has got to change and if you DON'T change your approach then you'll pretty soon be changing your desk.

As you've said, it's Craig's job to motivate the team. Any weakness in terms of tactics, motivation levels, personnel - well, the buck stops with Mr Levein. It's his team now and he'll live or die by it. He's had money to spend, much more than a lot of teams in this division.

Our league position in itself is unacceptable but even moreso when you look at some of the rubbish in this division. The worst part though is that Levein genuinely does think that we 'just' lack a striker and 'just' lack some confidence and that anything can be achieved with enough hard working, headless chicken like cloggers.

He's living in a dream world where every week we are robbed by the referee, by a lack of confidence or having been abandoned by lady luck and ignores the simple fact that his tactics, team selections and signings may well be at fault.

Go ahead Craig, bring on the next desperate signing to play alongside MdV whilst better options are ignored.

I have no problem with him bringing in someone. As long as he's quality, and can score goals. I'd love him to get a good loan signing in before Tuesday, preferably Lupoli.

At the moment there is not a problem playing a new signing along side De Vries, as he is our top scorer. But Hume should be given an extended run in the side at some point, and Levein will have to realise that De Vries will have to be axed because of this. If he doesn't, well then, so long Levein!

''They're all hard aren't they?'' Cl quote before the match -now doesn't that get you going?
