Got no problem with people (players or staff) moving on to bigger roles/clubs, suggests he must have done a good job here. As long as we have a pipeline of people to replace him then I see it as a good thing. It's when people leave because they feel undervalued (like some of the data people under Rogers by all accounts) that it irks me.

We never seem interested or able to offer these highly sought after coaches and analysts promotions internally. They leave to take on head of recruitment and director types roles at other clubs whilst the jobs for the boys brigade carry on regardless for us.

It's galling.

Exactly. The primary way we have a chance of keeping top scouts is by offering them a clear path to internal promotion.

Stinks of being lined up to take the top job when Brendan goes to Newcastle.

That's another candidate for manager off the list then.

This is where our fortunes turn!

Can't wait for the new Gabor Bori and Zsolt Lackzo to emerge!

Well, shit!

This is a large part of our undoing I think.

In real life, that is called bad/hostile management.

Top either doesn’t know about this or doesn’t care. The club’s run like the politburo.

Toulouse head of recruitment is no small job - they are one of the most advanced analytics clubs out there, owned by the RedBird group (own Milan, big £) - he must have impressed. Therefore you can assume a big loss to us.

With him, Sormaz, Fontes all having gone it seems there has been a bit of a brain drain in recruitment at LCFC. I understand we didn't directly replace Sormaz as head of analytics. Makes you wonder where the innovation is going to come from. This is what Pearson's staff did well - Paul Balsom et al.

Let's see what Martyn Glover pulls of the hat...

What’s the betting Glover isn’t here in 2 years?

I’d be shocked if Top’s ever spoken too anyone bar Rudkin/Whelan and the Squad/Manager

We must have expected to lose him and maybe a few others at the end of the season.

I know a young scout who interviewed with us this season and left with a very positive impression of Glover and his handle on the game’s modern innovations.

This sort of thing should be coming from higher up than Glover. This is another area where we either don't care, or we've put so much of the burden on Rudkin that he's cutting corners.

Either way it's no surprise that we're not coming out of it well. As you've said Toulouse are a club who are getting better in this department.
