A new senior scout has been added to Brendan Rodgers’ backroom staff ahead of the January transfer window, which is less than three months away.

Viktor Bezhani joined the club as a senior scout earlier this month having previously worked for Watford and Udinese.

The new arrival has also previously worked for Brentford as a lead eastern European scout and as head of recruitment at City’s Europa League rivals Legia Warsaw.

In his role, Bezhani will be working alongside City’s team of scouts in order to help find the latest talent.

New scout, Bezhani also has coaching experience, holding a UEFA Pro Licence and has worked as assistant manager of Cypriot side Anorthosis Famagusta.

Top- “Brendan, results haven’t been good, you told me you were targeting winning the Europa league. How could we lose to a team from Poland? “

Brendan- “Top, that team from Poland have one of the greatest teams ever assembled in Europe, we simply can’t compete when they scout as well as that”

Top- “that makes perfect sense, I will get their top scout for you”

Brendan- (looking like a kid pretending he wanted the socks for Christmas) “ah gee thanks Top”

Looks like Top hasn't much faith in Congerton or Congerton will be leaving with Brendan sooner to Newcastle

Congerton will be based in Leicester and will go and see any players recommended by these scouts.

This has got nothing to do with Rodgers or Congerton.

He's a direct replacement for Fontes who left for Roma in July - the club advertised for this role a couple of months ago.

Good to see we are still maintaining this - when I’ve heard other staff talk about it, it’s seems a good way of ensuring continuity at the club

He was the eastern european scout for Brentford during a period when they made no signings from Eastern europe ffs!

They have at least two players in their current squad what would have been players he identified

Doesn’t mean he didn’t recommend players that went on to achieve things.

I’m just saying a scouts job is too recommend not actually sign the player. Who knows whether he is any good?

His first job should be find us a Eastern European hard as nails center back !!

There were 2 we were linked with in the summer who would have fitted us better than Vestergaard in David Zima or Attila Szalai.

We should also be looking at Mario Vušković

He's been linked with Celtic.

Senior Leicester City scout Viktor Bezhani has been snapped up by Toulouse as their new head of recruitment.

Bezhani, who had been with City for just under two years, leaves for the high-profile role at the Ligue 1 club after being selected from more than 100 applicants. He takes the lead in their transfer department ahead of the new season, when they will compete in the Europa League after winning their maiden Coupe de France in April.

Bezhani arrived at City in the autumn of 2021 after the departure of Jose Fontes to Roma a couple of months earlier. The Albanian had previously worked at Brentford and Watford, and around Europe at Legia Warsaw and with the Croatian FA.

His appointment at Toulouse has been heralded by their president Damien Comolli, formerly the director of football at Tottenham and Liverpool. He said: “After an extremely rigorous selection process and more than a hundred applications received, we have arrived at a shortlist of some very high quality candidates.

“And from this list emerged Viktor who, by his experience, his personality, his approach to the role and his network, convinced us. He has, in addition, a CV which testifies to different roles in different clubs, different organisations and in different countries.

“He also went through clubs where he was able to come into contact with the use of statistics, which is essential in our recruitment process. So we are delighted that Viktor is joining us.

Bezhani himself said: “I am delighted to join the Toulouse Football Club and to be able to contribute to its success. It is a great joy and a great responsibility for me to be part of such an innovative project.

“Together with the players, the coaching staff and the support of the Toulouse fans, I am convinced that we can achieve great things and go to new heights. I look forward to working closely with everyone involved and having a positive impact on the future of the club.”
