To expand a stadium you need demand. You only have to look at how many empty seats there are this evening to know the demand is not there.

The club is not in a position to expand it yet. They need to get pricing right and get a better grip of understanding and engaging with fans.

They got the pricing right for the current size and it’s too expensive for most any increase in size must include some affordable ticketing as well as their expensive executive stuff

I literally can't think of one ground expansion that's not increased attendances. At the moment alot of people are either priced out or out of the habit of going to games . This is quite easy to change.

Last of all the club can not sell season tickets for the last few rows . So if empty seats scare you, you won't hardly see them and on demand those seat can then be sold to members/ non members.

There isn’t the demand from our fanbase. It’s apathetic. When the novelty wears off it’ll look embarrassing.

Even Real Madrid used to close of their top tier and put advertising banners on the corner seats. You'll hardly notice them doing it that way .

Don't be scared. 😅

The demand is there but not at the current prices, which are ridiculous. Expand and reduce the prices and it’ll fill. Match by match prices have gone silly the past 3-4 years.

And allow matches to go on general sale without signing up to be a member more often. Rather have fans in the stadium than a show of empty seats...

It’s not about being scared, it’s just pointless. What’s the purpose of having 1000s of empty seats with advertising banners on them?

We would need at least 4 or 5 seasons of Premier league stability and comfortable league positions, before we even consider re looking at this.....

Unless KP themselves paid for it, which I'm not even sure is allowed?

infrastructure is excepted from PSR. The owners can pay for it themselves if they want to, it wouldn't count towards the max investment for that.

The demand isn't there? Half the people in the ground for QPR were casuals/part time supporters/ticket borrowers and general sales. Family Enclosure is currently oversold as many that were kids ten years ago are now being asked to relocate as they get older. There's no capacity for new fans and we missed the boat in expanding after the title win.

Bear in mind how many people said in 1997 we couldn't sell out a League Cup semi final (17k out of 22k) so why move to a bigger ground?

It's the old addage - build it and they will come.

All true - but I'd also say that tickets for QPR were significantly cheaper than league games.

In 2002 when we moved we built it and they came - but they had games as cheap as £10 for adults in Division 1. After relegation in 2004 numbers stayed strong but slowly dipped off.

I've no issue in us expanding and don't really fear empty seats like others, in fact I think the novelty factor would improve attendances alone - but I just think people should have a realistic expectation that at the current pricing model if we opened our expanded ground tomorrow with a 40,000 capacity I'm not sure how often we'd sell out outside of the "massive" games.

Personally i find the problem is sitting in a ground with loads of empty seats is sh*t.  It takes away from the atmosphere which is already struggling.

Obviously you was never in filbo with 10k.

The problem with our atmosphere is we have tomany prawn sandwich types in the crowd.

The people that will create an atmosphere can't afford it.

Tomany aged middle class types that think being voiceful is below them.

Yes I'm nearly 60 but still sing when I go.

I went QPR with my dad, nephew and brother in law, I'm a casual/part time supporter, not been to a game all season, went every game last season, and the reason I'm a casual part time supporter, is because I wanted season tickets, mainly because I refuse to pay the prices for single tickets under membership. It's the club that's pricing people out, not that the demand isn't there

Well done.  Hat and badge for you. You sing.

They can't sell out premier league matches. QPR was at a lower price category to attract new fans yes....if you think they'd build a new stand to fill it £10 tickets you've got another thing coming. .

Go on this evening's stadium map. It's not the sign of a stadium that needs expanding.

It needs modernising yes but the demand for STs or memberships etc isn't big enough. We don't have 10 year long waiting lists for STs....the scarcity doesn't exist.

It is interesting how our atmosphere has got so bad .I think the quiet fans create pockets where everyone else is embarrassed to sing. Its pretty difficult to be that supporter that starts singing when no one else around you does. I've been going to the football since I was a boy, then teenager and now I'm 50, I remember how noisy we were at filbo despite 10k less crowd

10k less I remember being one of 8 to 10k total. Still had more atmosphere than the KP.

Touched a nerve I guess.

If you want a full house with no noise go to a book signing.

Me and my mate, we used to get a buzz from getting a chant going, but it was dad throwing you a tenner last minute so you could go down to the game. Good times, don't remember attendances that low but they may have been, I'm 50 this year

Can you put your finger on why our club now has a dreadful atmosphere in comparison to other clubs?

Does a poor atmosphere bother you?

Nobody in their right mind is paying £46 for a ticket in the Kop against Palace on a Wednesday night, the club is run by cretinous individuals.

£56 in J block!!

I've been going since the early/mid 60s and had a ST since the Carling Stand (not bragging) but there's no way I'd be going if I didn't have ST, for a start I wouldn't be paying for a membership, on principle for the privilege of buying tickets.

Don't get me started on memberships.

Hopefully the club wake up and smell the coffee next season. Shit pricing has been justified by sell outs in the past, absolutely not the case any more

As a season ticket holder,  I think the club have made a big mistake in keeping ST's prices as low as they are but conversly increasing match day pricing beyond the scope of the casual supporter.  Quite frankly unless I wanted to be reduced to going to only half a dozen home games a season I couldn't afford to get rid of my ST although I might be inclined to do so if I could still attend a dozen or so games a year at a reasonable cost.  This means that are now so few giving up there ST's it must be almost entirely down to fans sadly passing away.
