Good thread @Raj

I've completely gone off @FoxesDeb now that I know she's from Kettering. My dream was us shacking up together in Spain, cooking red cabbage and Paella together, but she's blown her chance lol (for some slight context, I lived in Kettering for a while and my ex wife is from there)

Would also be good to know the story of all members spread across the country. Any ties to Leicester and if not, why are you a supporter?

I lived in Leicester for 32 years, from birth and moved away for work. I'm not exactly a million miles away in Northamptonshire.

I've recruited 2 of the 3 step kids to be fans. Me and the boy travel everywhere. The step daughter now wants a membership next year, which is great.

The boy has even got a couple of kids from school hooked and gone to games.

I'm a big advocate of supporting your local team, always have been, but I won't turn anyone down that wants to watch us. It's better than losing them to the glory boys.

Cheers. I have no Leicester connections at all. I was born in South London of a Dad who was a West Ham fan and with a brother who supports Spurs  Before either tried to influence me at aged 6 Leicester got to cup final. We lost but I had chosen Leicester as MY team. Also Gordon Banks of Leicester was the England keeper and he was a hero. I'm nothing if not loyal and could not change my mind even when my beloved older brother took me to watch Spurs. You can't change your team can you?

Born and raised in Oadby, parents were both immigrants (as in, from Durham and Brighton) so I'm not from generations of Leicestoh, and in fact I primarily supported Brighton until I was about 14 (although I went to a lot of games and stood in either the Family Enclosure or the other side of the tunnel from the age of 12).

I cannot remember when I was properly won over - perhaps it was attending that epic midweek 3-3 with Liverpool that did it. I left home for College in 1989, but found fellow Foxes in Manchester and am still in contact with my childhood Foxes fans/friends too.

Where in Oadby? I moved there from Wigston when I was 7 and we really went up in the world lol

I was just off Rosemead Drive and we moved up to the new Oadby Grange houses years later.

I went to Gartree and Beauchamp

Love that. Almost 60 years in the making, but you had the bragging rights!

I'm so proud of where I come from and although I've moved away (yes, it's only 40 miles) I make sure everyone knows.

You say you're a Leicester fan nowadays, you're almost accused of being a glory fan lol

If I knew that was the case, I'd have skipped the Pleat years!

When it's matchday and I'm working, I always wear a tie with Foxes on. Is that sad?

I love the idea of kids growing up in Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds etc (when we were shit) as Leicester fans.

Weird for me to think we had Gordon Banks in goal. One of the best ever. World Cup winner.

We've been spoilt in the last few years, but I'd have loved to have witnessed us playing in the 60's. Some glorious players and so close to winning things.

I'm 42 now, so my childhood was the Pleat days and I'm still here!

Now they grow up in Nottingham, Derby and Coventry as Leicester City supporters :D

As did I, although I'm 9 years older than you. I lived off Ash Tree Road, near the junction with the A6 - indeed my Mum still does.

I often tell my mates that England need a Leicester player to win the world Cup. Still pinch myself how we done in recent years

Blimey, I have a Harry Potter style scar on my forehead...tried to jump over a tree root growing through the pavement on Ash Tree Road. It went wrong and I never wanted to ride my BMX again lol

7 stitches at the Royal! You were at the top of the hill, I was at the bottom, Briar Walk.

About 100 yards down the hill from the shop you went into to buy penny sweets after school lol

Possibly where Hidcote Road is?

Oh man, memories. Not been around there for years

Lane's, in my days. Where I nicked Panini stickers from.

Hidcote Road - that's where John Deacon lived.

And if anyone has to ask who John Deacon is, I'll.... I'll... I'll... roll my eyes and say 'tut'.

It was Lane's. Jesus, that was where I had my first paper-round.

Dodgy hairdressers next door.

Looking at John Deacon, he might have been in there for a trim lol

That hill was lethal. Remember a lad giving someone a croggie, wiped out and both in hospital for weeks!

Yes, it was highly tempting on a bike.

Slightly off topic, but I hate how anyone not from Leicester calls a croggie a backie.

Fvck off.

It's a croggie.

The true international readers of this thread are thinking WTF???

As Danes (?) how did you end up supporting Leicester?

Well, for me it’s pretty simple really. I’m born and raised in Leicester, but moved to Denmark in 1997 when I was 8 years old. My dad’s a huge Leicester fan so naturally it rubbed off on me and it’s peaked since living here. The Championship days (obvs not 04-08) were class and I managed to get a lot of my uni mates involved because it was a bit hipster supporting a crap team instead of any of the “big six”. And it’s been an excellent journey since!

I’m not sure if it was my first game but the first one I remember was the 2-1 win against Southampton at Filbert Street when Heskey scored a brace :) But what I remember distinctly from that game was when Muzzy got the ball on the halfway line and the keeper was on the edge of his box or a little off his line. As far as I recall, my brother (seemingly as the only person in the ground) got up and shouted “Shoot, Muzzy!”. Muzzy didn’t shoot.

No, Hidcote Road, down at the bottom, just after the bend.

The Turner nominated artist David Shrigley lived on Ash Tree Road, who was responsible for one of the most bizarre and surreal mascots in football history...
