I really need to watch this back because I swear Jiminez was offside and he was 100% in Kaspers eye line. The replay from behind the shot shows him actively shifting and looking around Jiminez just before the shot is hit

He was much much more in Kaspers eyeline compared to the TWO goals ruled out for us against Brighton!

Tbh all goals should have counted because it’s a stupid rule but out of all of these three goals (Jiminez and 2 Brighton ones) the Jiminez is the one that should be ruled out the most and it’s the only one that’s stood 😂😂😂

Thought we played alright and were a bit unlucky but we still look like conceding every single time an aerial ball goes into our box.

3 at the back only works if we have wing backs, Ricardo is on top form but Thomas can't play as wingback, Justin could when he's back on form, I don't think you could play Ndidi either, we'd have no creativity

How about Albrighton? Yes, I think we'd have to drop Wilf unless we play him in a back 3.

This is the appointed hour in which Rodgers has to earn his salary.

There's been enough evidence, over a number of games, that the ability of the team to create goalscoring chances remains intact. Yesterday the Sky pundits were busy bigging up Wolves defence - yet we were consistently penetrating that defence.

I believe winning any silverware is now wishful thinking. Rodgers' has to drag the team into the close season with its confidence as high as possible. That means establishing the most consistent defence available. Those players who are most reliable and adaptable have to start and to end the game. Albrighton, KDH, N'Didi and Maddison for starters. You don't take N'Didi off - full stop.

Thomas, in spite of being mucked about by Rodgers (and unjustifiably criticised on this forum) has been outstandingly consistent - for a still-novice player.

Amartey appears to be growing in confidence. Söyüncü  remains vulnerable but his passing is currently exceptional.

Tielemans is the enigma. He shifts from the divine to the ridiculous from game to game - no, that's incorrect - within every game. How many goals has he cost us this season? How many panics has he initiated? Would the Albrighton/Pereira combo be more reliable?

Lookman and Daka are the most obvious starters up front.

That's the core of a solid team - which is what is necessary to grind out results until the season (gladly) finishes. That's Rodgers' priority.

7 straight away losses. Absolutely abysmal. When did we last do that?

Maybe 2014/15? Still have to go to Chelsea, Arsenal, Man U and Tottenham before the end of the season too.....

Much the better team today, movement was better & the passion is there to see, ok a bit suspect at the back but players are now returning from injuries & a bit of luck has got to come our way soon.

Keep the faith everyone a win in the prem in imminent.

I agree our movement was better, and the possession figures bear that out. If you didn't know you'd have thought we were the home team. My fear is that we are becoming the next Brighton - play some good football but rarely get a win.

Watching it again, I am no longer convinced. Jimenez does not feel like he is interferring, and Kasper does not seem be looking in his direction, but.....

I think that the rule, or at least the interpretation of it that refs were asked to apply, was amended after our game v Brighton.

I thought we were the better team, we should of taken a point at least, but we just didn't take our chances. Wolves have a winning mentality at the moment and we don't, I think that was the difference.

It’s a bizarre situation

I think most of us know if pretty much any other club had been on the stinking run of form we’ve been on (and let’s have this right…it’s not only been this month, or since Christmas etc, it’s been for many many months), the manager would have been sacked ages ago

We stick with Rodgers now due to four things I think

1. He has credit in the bank (two good finishes in the league)

2. The FA cup

3. His reputation and power at the club

4. The nature of the owners… very loyal people

i think he’s lucky to still be here personally.

I think there are two other reasons ; the media would rip us to pieces after the Ranieri saga and the high financial cost. Yet if things do get really dicey Top will have to hold his nose and do it.

Would like to see us try our a diamond in our game against Burnley.

Something like;

Kasper

Ricardo Amartey Soyuncu Thomas

Ndidi

Tielemans KDH

Maddison

Iheanacho Daka

Having just watched the highlights on lcfc, we were hard done by tbf. Lazy defending by Ndidi and a reckless header across goal from Amartey cost us. Why didn’t he just head it out and concede the corner.

Like the look of this…. Let’s just win every game 6-4, there’s goals in this line up!!

Lazy defending and a bizarre decision by Amartey …. Two goals per game for the last two games. 6 points difference that would have us looking at the table differently.

Put this on your notepad for this week BR. Can we get someone that can take a corner and free kick, just like other teams have.

Sunday morning stuff 🤡🤡🤡

What I sense you mean is someone who can take a corner which results in a goal. The stats would reveal that corners and free kicks are woefully unproductive in terms of successful outcomes. Taller defenders/goalies, like many Prem teams have, mean even fewer goals. Look at the height difference between our squad and other teams. When we had Huth and Morgan (and Maguire) we got our fair share of headers. Tielemans, Maddison, KDH and Albrighton are all capable, but sometimes it's whose on the end of the cross.

In defence of Brendan - it is the first time in about a year that I've been watching a game against a decent opposition and thought 'we're way better than this lot'.

Yesterday was a reminder that we can be a dangerous side, even with Youri & KDH off the pace.

That is easily the best option in away matches giving us four in midfield.
