I think if a regime like that of Newcastle turned up at City, it would make me reconsider whether or not I would turn up at a City game, but my allegiance will never change. I think sometimes that as football fans, we tend to turn a blind eye to atrocities committed by these type of people when our teams are doing well. We tend to lose our sense of humanity in favour of glory. I would like to think I could keep my hold on what is morally right. After all if we do not, then we have surely lost.

When do you ever see supporters demonstrating against the owners of a successful team? Actually never.

Apparently around 3% are unhappy with our owners as revealed in a poll a few back.

No individual *deserves* to be a billionaire or *earned* that money, and certainly not while there is any hunger or need in the world.

That any billionaires exist at all is a failure of late-stage capitalism and one day people will look back with disdain on billionaires who built penis shaped rockets as toys, whilst poor people couldn’t afford medical care or education.

This guy f***ing gets it.

Let's not go too far with the billionaire worship.

I'm sure he's a lovely bloke. I'm sure I would be if I got hold of an amount of money representing tens of thousands of times my current annual salary.

The existence of billionaires is a symptom of a very, very broken system.

Yep, that's the problem in England. It only ever happens if things go south on the pitch.

I read that the average wage earner would need to earn their salary for over 20,000 years to earn one billion.

I count the wealth of our current owners in my this criticism of the system, however nice they may be or however well they run the club.

The premier league was all about money long before the involvement of Abramovic, or the Man City owners, or of our owners, but allowing football clubs to become the playthings and status symbols of the obscenely rich is not a good thing.

Abramovic is one of many.

I agree that billionares are inherently immoral but space travel is the next step for us as a civilisation, sadly because these things are expensive to pull off in their early stages it will only be used by the rich/the government initially, just like planes and cars before but for future generations space exploration will be normal and a vital part of society, just like the aforementioned planes and cars are now.

....there are people out there who are so intelligent that they can build a business that no one had previously envisaged!!!

People such as Zuckerberg and Gates created a phenomena which created a market and changed the world and how we interact with each other. Surely they should be rewarded for this. Capitalism allows this to happen, the flipside would be communism where an altruistic ideology however well meaning fails to work and the ones at the top have the luxury and finance of a capitalist billionaire.

It would be great if clubs were run by local co-operatives, for the people, by the people, but clubs do suffer and go into administration, could a market ran by co-operatives deliver the deals that is now in the game. Spreading the wealth more evenly would be a better way, but that then brings us back to market forces, and the capitalist billionaires.

As I usually say, no one ever refused a pay rise or a god job because they will pay more tax.  No one ever gave up on an idea because they would only be worth a few hundred million instead of a billion.

Also we might well decide in future that the creation of Facebook turned out to be a greater evil than stealing billions of oil wealth from the Russian people.

It doesnt need to be a flipside, it just needs a better distribution of wealth. No-one needs more than a hundred million $

Also, none of those with "great ideas/business's" did it alone, they received some sort of benefit or priivilege in getting it started, they profited from the workers who brought it to fruition. For example, Gates got free access to one of the only computers in the world in his teens (not to mention stolen ideas later). Bezos and Jobs profited and continue to profit from exloiting workers.

None of the privileged billionaires did this alone, the "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" is a bullshit con.

It is time the $ were spent making a better world not 500 million $ boats etc
