For sure you would end up paying a smaller percentage in tax, but a greater amount in terms of actual value of tax paid.

It’s all about the percentage not the actual amount.

Great to see JRM getting dogs abuse as he rocked up yesterday at the party conf.

It really isn't great to see any politicians getting this kind of abuse, and if it was the right doing this to Labour you would be the first to condemn it.  If nothing else this means good people are less likely to choose politics as a career.

Or the other side of this is you reap what you sow. If you're gonna be a total **** and actively try to make people lives worse to make your rich mates richer, then don't expect people to pat you on the back and thank you. He wasn't physically harmed or threaten as i could see, he was just told some home truth about what a nasty, useless, corrupt sack of shit him and his party are.

I don't think this level of abuse is acceptable when we have seen two MPs murdered in recent years.  Justifying it as fine when you don't agree with them or like their policies is not good enough.  With JRM in particular, lets be honest people hate him because he is a succesul posh rich white guy, not because of policy or in fact any evidence whatsoever he has done anything in any way dodgy.  People like to believe the utter nonsense written about him because it suits them.  He is no doubt an out of touch privately educated pillock who had lots of advantage to help him on his way, but again doesn't deserve to be treated this way.

Not even remotely true, people hate him because of the vile nonsense that comes out of his mouth. The fact he is a caricature just makes it easier to take the piss.

Fair enough if you think so, I think he is completely wrong on lots of things, but I don't hate him.  Its a strange thing to hate people you don't actually know.

My favourite quote from this is when he said last year was the best year for the pound since 2020.

The RP accent is the single most godawful accent in the country.

He’s an amoral, hypocrital piece of shit who works non-stop to make the lives of most of the country worse - the complete opposite of the two murdered MPs. He deserves every ounce of the opprobrium he receives.

I've never voted Labour in my life so I'm not sure where you have got that assumed viewpoint from. Whichever way you swing on the political spectrum is quite clear JRM is out of touch bafoon, a bit of heckling for a minute whilst walking along the streets of Birmingham won't do anyone any harm - it' hardly ABH!

With respect to JRM, the only thing I'll point out is that the only reason he and his antiquated views have any power at all is due to the equally antiquated FPTP constituency system giving it to him.

Perhaps it's time that system needed another look.

Gove is definitely making moves on undermining Truss at every occasion.

Watch out for Gove, Sunak and Mordaunt really trying to drive the party back towards the centre. Soap opera at its best this politics malarkey

What I like most is he leads with a good, sharp left jab to throw his opponent off and follows with a straight right

I mean I don't agree with Truss at all but this tory infighting for the last 6 odd years has not been helpful at all.

Don't let anyone tell you a Labour majority or even a Labour/SNP (Not going to happen) coalition would be chaos.  There's no way a government could be more chaotic then this Tory government.
