On a "big" level...that we're still on track to revisit the Moon within the next five years.

On a "everyday" level...that I know if I were to leave my wallet unattended practically anywhere in this country, it would be returned to me ASAP with everything still intact.

Lovely thoughts, but I have to slightly berate you for using hypotheticals :)

lol In my own defence the latter is something I have personally experienced previously, and the former, while a theoretical, is a representation of current good events.

On returning to our car yesterday a lady was waiting to confess she'd reversed into it from across the road. Fortunately we found no damage but i was pleased and surprised and thanked her for staying and telling us.

Unlike a previous incident where our car was smashed in a private car  park and we were left to do detective work to find the culprit.

That's really good, I've had several incidences of this not happening.

There's this thread as well although more about general good news than good deeds.

One more cannot be a bad thing, @davieG...

They're different so yeah. Plus General Threads tend to die so new or resurrected ones are always a plus.

I had similar once.

Went to work and left my car in the car park like normal.

Was a week before Xmas so quite busy, and did overtime so finished at approx 9pm. During my shift, someone had gone into the side of my car and left a fairly big dent/scratches.

A kind gent waited for about 2 hours for me to finish my shift. He didn't know it was my car until I walked out towards it. As I opened it, he came up to me and said someone hit my car at the specific time and gave my all the details of the guy who hit mine, the make and model etc.

I couldn't believe it. More the fact he waited so long to tell me! He left his own details too - spoke to him after Xmas and got him a couple of Xmas gifts for him and his family. I remember being fairly overwhelmed that someone would so such a generous thing out of their own time.

Did you chase up the culprit and get vengeance?

Also if there was no video footage wouldn't it just be finger pointing and be a pain in the @rse to prove anything even if your paint was on their car?

Not at all but insurance were happy to pay out for the repairs based on the info provided.

This situation happened to me. I was parked on the road visiting my then gf (now wife).  Few hours pass by and i leave. As i get to the car i notice a massive dent on my driver side door. The owner of a house across the street had reversed right into it from his driveway.  He wrote a note and stuck it to my windshield wipers/windshield.

So i read the note and rang his doorbell. Incredibly nice person and remorseful.  I said thank you for the note and not to worry things happen . Heck, i said sorry (Canadian mentality) that my car was parked on the road and may have impeded him. It didn't, he just had a moment which we all are guilty of at times.

Someone in front of us at the tills at Aldi today had loads of shopping, we only had a basket full. She let us go ahead of her as we would be quicker. Whilst this is a common occurrence and has happened to me all over the world it’s the first time its happened to me within the m25. I was so shocked and grateful I thanked her up to ten times

Not really an act of simple humanity but Morrison's, the supermarket I loathe, are advertising that if you're unemployed and need clothes cleaned for an interview, they will dry clean them for free. OK, it's something of a publicity stunt but hat's off for doing it.

Timpsons have been doing this for years as well as lots of other good work regarding hiring ex cons etc

My neighbour just moved out today…. He knocked on my door and gave me two bottles of Moët he got from work a while back…

As he’s just converted to Islam recently, he’ll not be needing them…. I tried not to turn my nose up when he foisted a bottle of Asti Spumante on to me at the same time…
